For a mechanical drive this really is great. HUGE capacity and very quick due to the density of the platters. This drive may require that you upgrade your bios (check your motherboard support site) 5 year warranty is almost a thing of the past.

10 days after installation, system freeze ups were noticed, by 28 days, loud clicking noises. By 33 days BIOS would not recognize. She's now dead folks, just outside NCIX warranty period. Freezer trick wouldn't help. Read the internet about the seagate 7200.11 series before you buy, I wish I had, don't just assume a 'good name' is good enough.

I shortstroked this puppy to be a boot drive while waiting on a good price on an SSD. Amazing speed. Though still suffers from the slow access time of a 7200rpm drive.

Very happy with this drive. It's quite and big enough I won't need anymore for awhile. I use it in my WHS so speed isn't an issue as it's only accessed via Gb Lan.

Good drive for the money. I would buy one of these again for one of my systems or anybody's for that matter. I did not it gets a little warm though so if you don't have a good case with airflow you might want to add a HD cooler.

Jumped on this drive when it was on Sale a while ago for about $100, I have had good experience with Seagate in the past, so I wasn't worried. The last 3 HDD I bought where from them, and are still running fine. This one is no exception, and I am experiencing no issue with it. go for it if you are looking for a larger drive at a good price point.

I have hate my Seagate 1TB and this Seagate 1.5TB die within 2 weeks of each other. This drive began hanging my system and making "clicks of death" in less than a month of being installed in my system. Do some serious research before buying this drive. You will find the failure rate for both the Seagate 1Tb and 1.5TB are tremendously high. So much to the point that Seagate is offering free data recovery to it's customers to try and save their PR. I will never be buying a Seagate drive ever again.
