I have bought a few of these for a few systems that I have made, and i was paying around 40 bucks on it. Started to make my own rig and saw that it was very cheap on NCIX and naturally jumped all over it. Amazing drive, insanly fast burn/read times, very reliable and pretty quiet for what its doing.

It was either LG or this, I picked this over LG mainly because of reliability and the price. This drive is fast & quiet; so far I haven't had any problems yet (knock on wood).

Very fast drive although a little noisy when burning. Good price and can often be gotten on sale for under $25. Samsung also seems to produce quality electronics so no worries there

Got one of these back in June, which initially worked great. A couple months later my system couldn't detect the drive and there was no obvious reason for it to have stopped working. Called Samsung a number of times before I could get an RMA number (very poor service on Samsung's behalf). I sent it in and got a new one a couple weeks later. The new one has been working ever since without any hiccups.

Defective software, video games or DVDs
will be replaced by the SAME title and format ONLY (and subject

video games and DVDs may be returned within 30 days only if the
item is UNOPENED (with shrink wrap still intact) at the sole discretion
of NCIX.com.
