Pros

Very fast CPU
Low Wattage Requirements
Great Cache
Great Windows Experience Index Rating!
Cons
Pricey
Should not pay for a stock fan and heatsink I won't use.
Summary
Well worth the coin, this unit sports a fast speed and a large cache. Though I personally think the CPU would be better off without the stock fan and heatsink (since I'm installing a different one anyways), this little CPU does not disappoint. Easily provides more than enough CPU power for most games or editing, this little baby can also have the disabled fourth core re-enabled. After some overclocking, this CPU feels like an i5 for a much lower price.

Pros

Amazing price to performance ratio, easy and effective overclocking, cool operation and excellent energy management. The extra core gives it a solid leg up over a dual core and puts it not that much below a quad when it comes to heavy multitasking. Works in MOST 780G through 790GX motherboards with a simple BIOS upgrade.
Cons
none i can think of
Summary
In this economy it is VITAL to make the most out of every penny. This chip is like the perfect chip for most people right now. VERY few people or applications can fully make use of a quad core, this means the tripple core works super, it allows for better mutlittasking than a dual without the price of a quad.

At stock speeds this chip will run any game I throw at it with ZERO issues. With a bit of EASY overclocking thanks to AMD Overdrive, I can take the chip to 3.4 Ghz or above if I need a bit more performance.

If you want to build a budget game system throw this together with 4 gig of RAM and you will rock in anything you try. The money saved from a quad can be used to get a better video card or more RAM.

GREAT BUY!

Pros

Cheap
Pay for 3 cores, but get 4!
Overclocks well
Cons
Locked multiplier
Couldn't overclock much the memory bus
Summary
I've unlocked the fourth core and overclocked to 3.18Ghz with stock fan. The Phenom II have a great overclocking capacity and are quite cheap.

Pros

bang for buck
Cons
Not the fastest processor, but its not meant to be.
Summary
I know this is not the fastest processor around, but its not meant to be. I bought this on sale with free shipping and do not regret it at all. At regular prices I agree that the x3 720 or x2 550 are the way to go (depending on you budget), but if you can find yourself a deal on this processor you should not overlook it. I think I got an amazing deal on an often overlooked processor. I have not OC'd it yet, but I have read quite a few reviews of people who have been fairly successful at it.

Installed on my Asus M3A78-EM (from NCIX) with no problems and it was recognized by the board without a bios update  (though I think some older bios are still out there on that board).

Pros

Inexpensive and fast for a 2.6 Ghz core. Can overclock fairly well with a good 790GX motherboard. Great CPU for low cost builds
Cons
Has a locked multiplier. It is not much cheaper than the 720BE that has unlocked multiplier for those who would like more flexibility in overclocking. The stock heatsink isn't very effective.

Pros

- temps are cool with stock cooler
- very good performance with 3 cores
Cons
- stock fan noisy
Summary
Good CPU for budget build but if you're looking for performance the 720 is a much better choice for only $20 more with its unlocked multiplier
The stock fan is quite noisy so if you're looking for a quiet build you better use an aftermarket one, but it's still quiet enough if you have a case without lots of fans or aeration holes (unlike the Three Hundred I used for this build)

Pros

Next generation Phenom processor. Good 45nm arcitecture. 2mb cache per core. Really low temps. Awesome deal for $150, owns all C2D's
Cons
Not unlocked multiplier. No heatpipes on stock heatsink.
Summary
No copper pipes on stock heatsinkbut still really low temps on stock frequency of 2.6ghz wit Arctic Silver; 30/39 celcius on idle/load (right after installing OS). After wiping off the stock thermal compound, the heatsink looked all darkened and just kind of 'contaminated'; thought I did someting wrong, but I booted up anyways, waited in hardware monitor in BIOS, watched the temp over at around 33-ish for a while and I was satisfiedGonna overclock when this thing gets outdated, incase you're wondering. By then, the Arctic Silver should have settled and optimized :)

Pros

Bang for the buck, runs cool, amazing overclocker
Cons
nothing so far
Summary
Right now I'm running this thing at 3.2 GHZ on stock voltage. It runs at 38 idle and doesn't get above 50 on load. I'm using the stock heatsink. Normally I would say that it runs hot but this was in my cramped LAN build. I would overclock higher but i don't need it. I wish the stock heatsink had heatpipes like the old AMD cpus. Oh well. Amazing deal on this processor.
