It's no secret that AMD is not competitive with Intel at the high end of the market. Where they win, and as a consumer I hold myself as an example, is the midrange.

Installed this to run a HTPC. The speed is amazing. You'll need to install better heatsink to keep temp down. Multitasking without any slowdown or lag. Great CPU. First own an AMD.

This processor is a steal at the current pricing and combined with a GigaByte mobo and Mushkin ram from NCIX will build a perfect system.

This processor is blazing fast, and has serious overclocking potential (for those trying it out, this processor likes lower temps compared to higher voltages). It's pretty much up to par with the i7 920 in terms of gaming performance, but rendering-wise, i7 wins, albeit a very small margin. Running this with 4 gigs of ddr3-1333 memory, a 4890 (soon to be crossfire'd), and a 790fx-gd70. Overall, very fast, very stable, and a good competitor to Intel's more pricey i7 processors.

I got this with a asus am2+ motherboard 4 gigs of ddr2 patriot ram that was on sale and bang for the buck pretty hard to beat . It overclocks so easy. So if you want a fast but inexpensive system this processor has it all.

A great processor overall. I upgraded from an Opteron 165 and there's a huge difference in load times and FPS for processor heavy games. This is a very easy processor to overclock. I put it up to 3.7ghz without raising the voltage and on air cooling. Load temps don't go over 50C. Recommended!
