Overall, a decent DVD writer/reader for the price (PM for $26.79). Would Definitely recommend this for a budget build.

Bought for budget build for a friend, works great no problems thus far, plays dvd's and all sorts of cd's no problem with installing it or installing programs from it. Excellent little cheap CDROM.

Last time I buy samsung dvd-writer, I took it because it was cheap and I don't really care about my optical but with the noise it makes I think I will stick to LG next time for the extra 10bucks.

I don't think DVD Roms are going to improve anymore. I would like to see a slot loading option like the Plextors used to have.

I used this in my main workstation, its very speedy and quiet. Even unbalanced CD don't seem to make much noise. Although I regret not getting a light scribe version for 3 dollars more.

Great drive for a excellent price. Supports pretty much all DVD formats out there and gets the job done. I have has several of the drives now and they all preform as expected. Recomended

Bought this for a friend's comp. Works well enough, just tested it once before packing the system up. You can really only go with LG or Samsung if you need a DVD burner, I went with the cheaper one. Disappointed though that there was no included software, not even cheapies like PowerDVD 7 or Nero Express 6.
