Designed for Years of Performance
The Obsidian Series 800D is built to last through years of motherboard, power, memory, cooling, and component upgrades.
The steel structure has a matte black coating both inside out and is finished with a brushed aluminum faceplate for a professional look that’s both serious and awe-inspiring. A windowed side panel makes it easy to show off your work.
Three Isolated Cooling Zones
The power supply compartment, main compartment and the SATA bays each have dedicated cooling subsystems to prevent heat buildup.
A dust-filtered 140mm fan draws in cold air at the bottom of the chassis and exhausts it at the rear and top. This clever design forces fresh air directly over the graphics card and CPU. The SATA hot-swap bays are cooled by a separate 140mm fan which vents from the chassis via a sealed chamber and prevents the heat generated by the drives from entering the main compartment. The power supply compartment has its own dedicated intake and exhaust, also isolated from the main compartment.
Need even more cooling performance? The Obsidian Series 800D has pre-drilled support for top-mounted single, dual, and triple radiators, or up to three additional 120mm fans.
Advanced Features for Extreme Flexibility
A four-drive SATA hot-swap drive bay sits in the front of the case, making it easier to install or swap hard drives on the fly. A unique cable routing system virtually eliminates cable clutter that can impede airflow. The tool-free design allows for easy entry, easy access, and quick installation of 5.25” drives.
Features include
Four easily accessed hot-swap drive bays
Removable CPU backplate panel for easy heatsink installation
Isolated cooling zones prevent heat buildup
Unique cable routing holes guarantee a clean and clutter-free installation
Three fans included, with the ability to add four more 120mm fans
Tool-free optical drive installation makes building a system faster than ever
Two year warranty with Corsair’s world-class customer service and technical support

2 great videos showing the new case. I love the cable management system in this.To top it off a removable cover to get at the back plates if your swapping out a new heatsink!
HardwareCanucks - Sept 2009 - "Unique and well researched design that gives users what they have always wanted. Unbeatable cable management, with grommet placement and paths that would typically require time and case modification. "
From the first moment the Corsair Obsidian 800D was rumoured, the internet has been abound with speculation on just how great this case could be. Well the day is finally here where Hardware Canucks gets to show you.
August 2009 - pcgameshardware.com - FINAL PRODUCT REVIEW - "The corsair Obsidian 800d doesn't have any big weaknesses and offers a lot of detail solutions. A water cooling system and an army of hard drives aren't a problem either. The cooling performance is good and the possibility to put ca
LegitReviews - August, 2009 "The Corsair Obsidian Series 800D chassis is an example of what happens when you think outside the box and design something from the ground up. Several of the design features are unique to this chassis and make it stand out from the crowd. It has clearly done well enough
Hexus - August, 2009 "When Corsair set out to make its first chassis, it clearly aimed big - and the Obsidian Series 800D is mammoth. Its features are plentiful, and practically everything is provided in excess quantities."
HardOCP - June, 2009
Not only is that case sexy as hell, it has some really cool features for water cooling enthusiast and case modders. Trust me when I say that the Obsidian 800D, with a 1000W power supply, is going to be my next case upgrade.
TweakTown - June, 2009
It was evident after meeting with Corsair for only a short while today at their Computex suite that the once memory only company is really spreading its wings and diversifying into new markets with a mix of new products which move far away from PC memory and power supplies.

I am really happy with my purchase, I got it bundled with the Corsair H-50 cooler on sale. I had been waiting ages for this to go on the weekly sale! It seems like the H-50 and 800d were made for each other. If you are air cooling make sure underneath is well ventilated and not on carpet. I would also recommend at least 2 exhaust fans for the top. Recommend too a PSU with its intake fan facing down. Cable management is simply the best experienced. Make sure things like an additional fan controller used have long enough leads. I use the Zalman ZM-MFC3 which did the job good.

Excellent case with excellent cable management. The noise issue from plastic cover is minor but removing the cover kinds of messing up the airflow design. I was not expecting such issue from a $300 case. Overall, I am still very please with the case.

Over All this is an awsome case. Easy to install components even for a novice like myself!! Great cooling options and cable routing options. This case is worth every penny you are going to pay for it!!! It would be nice if Corsair supplied an external 3.5 to 5.25 adapter for installing flash card readers or floppy drives.

I bought this gem after reading raving user comments and noticing how the case is very well desiged. The materials is very sturdy and it's very very big. There is a lot of room to work inside even with 2 loops installed.

This case is a good buy and is very well built. If you looking for a high quality case then look no further. Very easy to install devices and has great cable management features. Only thing i would change is have the case doors open sideways instead of lifting them up to remove them.

Owned this for about a month now and it is the best case I have ever owned. Perfect for watercooling and people with big hands. The all black color scheme goes good with everything and doesn't require any painting right out of the case.

This case is simply gorgeous, but some batches appear to be suffering from expansion slots alignment issues, making it completely useless.

I have to echo many other comments about this monster of a case by simply saying it is HUGE. I transferred my existing system into the 800D from a two year old P182SE case, and the difference in work quality and component management is night and day.
