The motherboard installed and set up was fine. But when you try to use the SMART 6 or the onboard BIOS utility to overclock everything starts to crash (Windows 7)

I've been a long time ASUS user. In fact, all three of my systems at home and countless systems I've built at work have used ASUS motherboards. I tried one Gigabyte board in the past and wasn't too happy with its performance, but comparing their boards to ASUS, Gigabyte always seems to come out ahead with things like the number of ports, and overall features.

The Gigabyte P55-UD4P represents a truly good value, thanks to the flexibility provided by its dual glan, sli/crossfire support and pcie slots. Most importantly the thing just works without any problems. The BIOS allows for a granular level of tweaking, but also makes it easy to do some basic stuff - for example, I got my i7 860 up to 3.5ghz by only changing 2 settings. It also supports backing up the bios to the HDD, and havng 2 BIOS' incase you need something to fallback too - nice little features (which might be common now, but weren't last time I bought a computer).

I'm a Gigagyte user for a long time. This Mobo was business as usual. No surprise. It as plenty of features for the price when on sale. Apart of the SATA connector and the chipset heat sync this mobo is awesome. Seems to OC well too. I really like Gigabyte support : 2 new BIOS updates in 1 week.

When you pull this out of the box, the first thing you notice is how heavy it is, likely due to the 2OZ copper PCB. Everything went together easily enough. Its hard to tell from the picture on here but this board looks awesome. The PCB is very blue, and anything metal is shiny blue with white stripes a Gigabyte branding. The software supplied will provide an OC of 3.2 GHz on an i5 750, if your not comfortable entering the bios. I currently have the i5 up to 4.0GHz. Highly recommended.
