Experience: 2 Years
Great cooling ability
Good design, style, size
I don't have this exact model, I have the older original one. I can't recommend it enough though. It provides excellent cooling with a single mediocre fan. I've never had heat problems on my CPUs since owning it, not even close.

This has been one of the top rated coolers for years. Thermalright has a winner here!

Big Wow, would highly recomend
Put this on my new I7-903 build and took my temps down 10 degree's from the stock cooler. Great Heatsink!

Experience: 9 Months
its one of the best air cooling methods before going watercooling
dust collects
Bought this for my i7 920 build, overclocked on a p6t to 3.6ghz with idle temps from ~31-40 degrees and ~59-60 degrees at load. used mx-2 thermal paste along with this. This heatsink is somewhat hard to install as the base sorta shifts, and dust tend to collect after time.

One of the best air coolers in the market
Cost's a wee bit higher - but you do get what you paid for
This heatsink + a noctua 120mm fan is cooling an i7 960 - room temp of 21-22c and processor sits cool at 30c or less.
a lot of reviews have mentioned this as being one of the best heatsinks you can get, especially for the lga1366 platform - and those reviews are correct.
the mounting clips are strong and hold fast - and this does an amazing job.
i went with a noctua fan instead of the fan it comes with based on ncix forum/review recommendations - best decision i could have made

Quiet, good quality build, very versatile.
Can get in the way of some items, but I found if you install those items first you can install this over top of them.
I have had this cooler on my i7 920 C0 (yea, C0) OC'd a 4.2Ghz and 1.245 volts. In a 22 deg C room I run at 41 deg C. Running on an ASUS GeneII in an Antec P180 Mini. Push / Pull fan setup. All fans set to are set to low. Nice thing is you can move the fan up/down depending on your memory configuration so you can install memory in all DIMM slots.

cooling seems good for air. looks good in case if it fits.somewhat simple install
none yet , a little large and heavy
so far it has been cooling good. I was using water for quite some time now so this is the first air on a overclocked unit. it is large although i assume any similar cooling units will be of similar has some weight to go with its size so i do have a little board warp noticeable but am getting good contact on cpu spreader. running in haf922 and fits fine with room probably to put a fan on the door.

Efficient cooling
Good and quiet fan included
The fit is not perfect. I installed it on a MSI X58M and the back plate can be moved up and down slightly.

This cpu cooler did not fit on all case/motherboard. It do not fit in front-back configuration because the heatsink alone rub again the PSU (The heatsink goes outside of the board. Only the bottom-top setup fit but it was not good for the airflow.

With my new case Antec 200, it is fine.

Experience: 30 Days
Huge improvement in temps.
very big, but in my case I have a TT Armor so space wasn't an issue
I also have the evga classified and fit all 12 gigs of ram with no problems. i7 sits p under 35C at idle and never goes over 53C with full load (OC'd to 3.88ghz)
If you have the case to fit it, the cooler will work very well. The other people must have smaller cases that are not getting much difference in temps.

Very sleek looking, and shiny
Causes my LGA1366 socket to not seat correctly and therefore results in 2 of my DIMM slots not functioning due to lack of communication between the processor and ram.
I had purchased this product to install onto my EVGA X58 Classified combined with an I7 920 CPU in the hopes that I would have better temperatures with this heatsink and 2 fans in a push pull configuration, Unfortunately I did not have such luck and it resulted in only 4 out of the 6gb of memory that I had installed to be available

CPU-Z stated that 3 slots were installed onto my motherboard

Windows 7 said that I had 6GB installed but only 3.99GB was useable.

Trying to boot with one stick of memory in slot one, endless rebooting without posting, switched over to slot 3 and it booted, same with slot 5, also with slots 4 and six I was able to post the system

After checking through EVGA's FAQ's they stated that I should try re-seating the CPU and checking for bent/damaged pins on the socket, as there were no bent or damaged pins on my CPU socket I re-seated the thermalright heatsink again.

(EVGA Support Knowledgebase FAQ ID # 58505 )

After 3 attempts at trying to have this heatsink seated properly with one sucessfull re-seating which reverted back to having only 4GB available after shutting it down overnight I decided to switch back to the other heatsink I was previously using.

actually not that loud
great thermals
large as hell
Good product with excellent reviews from every site I've been too. Larger than expected with some ram clearance issues for some people with gaming ram, but seeing as I don't have that type it worked fine. Quieter than I thought it would be as well and the thermals are awesome. Not really for non overclockers since the price is a bit high.

The task of picking out the right cooler can be daunting, so we figured that we'd give you all the information in one article to make the task of finding information and comparisons easy.
