Experience: 3 Years
Size is great
You can easily attach it to the back of your TV
CPU & GPU limited
I bought this box to act as a media centre in my living room. I soon found out that this box had some trouble with HD content. Streaming anything 1080 didn't work well (some 720 videos are fine). In the mean time I'm using this to watch SD content and play some low end games. Although this product isn't necessarily great by any means, I'm sure by now the new Zotac boxes are powerful enough to actually handle HD content nicely.

Low energy usage
Good performing
Bad wireless NIC
No Operating System
I bought this to use as a HTPC (Home Theatre PC) which I have made a lot of use of over the past 5 months. Anyone looking to purchase this PC, keep in mind that it doesn't have an OS (operation system) installed so you'll have to do that yourself. Plus no optical drives (CD/DVD drive) which makes it a bit of a hassle getting an OS onto it if you don't have a USB optical drive at the ready.

My one complaint would be the built-in wireless. It's pathetic. I read the comments about it before buying it and they were true. The solution, buy a wireless adapter. The "Belkin F5D8053 N Wireless 802.11N USB Adapter" on sale worked great for me.

+ Quiet
+ Powerfuly
+ Relatively inexpensive
- More expensive than Acer Revo's for no apparent reason
- No keyboard/mouse included
This is a really good family room/media PC. Whether you are doing full blown Win 7 w/ Media Center or a Win/Linux w/ XBMC, it will do the job. It's a very versatile machine and has all the bells and whistles you can ask for in such a small package: eSATA, wifi-n, HDMI, etc.

I own an Acer Revo and I don't know why this is nearly 50% more expensive. Moreover, the Revo came with a wireless keyboard and mouse. It's a great machine overall, but not too great bang for the buck. If you can get a cheap Revo, go with that instead!

Experience: 1 Weeks
- small and thin design
- able to be mounted onto an LCD monitor via VESA
- for the price, cannot build something as small and as good
- fan is loud
- wireless is slow
I purchased this to replace my thin-client at work, so obviously this excelled at meeting my expectations and then some.
(I hadn't known this was the dual-core model until I unboxed it. The previous one I had purchased only had a single Atom core and 1GB ram.)

I see some others, like myself, have had problems with the wireless. I believe the problem is due to the wireless card running as a USB device... Windows 7 deteted an unknown USB device and then installed the drivers for the wireless adapter... (I believe it was Ralink... not sure). Besides being unable to get very fast speeds, I don't have too much of a problem

It's small, good shape, support HDMI and 6 USBs which is perfect.
If use this as normal computer you can hear the little noise but as a HTPC it never disturb.
It's a fantastic HTPC and I love it. I installed win7 on it and it runs very fast. I also read some other people's reviews talking about bad wireless network but I did not feel. I am using it watching movie online and there is no problem at all.

HD playback
Horrible wireless performance, a bit loud fan noise
Not decent but acceptable build quality. Generally happy with this, except for its horrible horrible wireless performance. Reading other reviews, other people were complaining about this too. I am actually really pissed off how bad the wireless performance is. Using a 15MBPS cable modem with Linksys 610n, this shitty wireless card only give me around 30kB/s download speed in NZB. Compared to around 1500kB/s I got from my desktop over the same network, I can't understand how can they release a product like this. This is more likely a design issue.

In short, if you plan to run it wirelessly, stay away from this. Otherwise it's worth its price.

Tiny & Compact, Plays HD video like a charm.
Runs a little hot.
This is the perfect media center PC in my opinion. I had to enable hardware acceleration for HD videos but other then that its awesome!

Small size, decent amount of power, quiet operation.
came with wrong power cord!
Got one of these the other week only to find the power cord that connects the power brick to the wall was the wrong type so I could not use it. NCIX was able to eventually replace the cord but it took some complaining on my part. Once I got the new cable I was able to fire it up and install Linux (10.x) and so far it has been pretty good. Downloaded the "restricted" nvidia drivers and everything is working well. GPU reports 56c idle temp but the box is hot to the touch. The atom seems to have lots of horse power and multitasking was breeze (when hyperthreading enabled and 512mb ram dedicated to the ION GPU). Only thing I wish is it came with a keyboard/mouse like the Acer Revo.

Price, size, performance
None so far
I bought this mainly for an HTPC setup, and so far it hasn't disappointed. 1080p video plays perfectly over a gigabit network. I haven't tested the wireless, so can't comment on other people's issues with it.

I'm outputting to a 24" LG monitor (which acts as my tv), and optical audio out to my receiver. Running Windows 7 (may try putting linux on it in the future), and XBMC. A note about XBMC; to get full hardware acceleration for video, the current stable version won't work, you'll need to grab the latest nightly build, and then you can enable it in settings.

I've also got uTorrent running on this 24/7, a web/streaming server for my music library, and plugged in a USB HD tuner for OTA stations.

Overall, produces a lot less heat and consumes a lot less power than my previous setup, and performance has remained the same. Obviously there won't be any games played on this, but that's not what it was purchased for.

I highly recommend this system, it's been great.

Long live The Zotac.

Very small, powerful, quiet, can pretty much do anything I throw at it. Never tested it with Windows or any gaming
The wireless card is really poor. Would only connect at 11Mbps <30ft from N-router.
Purchased this for the sole purpose of hooking it up in my living room and plugging it into my Samsung 40" LCD tv for XBMC output. It has been running great so far, able to do 720p and 1080p output with ease, system remains quiet and cool. The only real issue with this system is the wireless card, it is very weak. In my setup, the system would be streaming all videos from my wireless router with an external hard drive plugged in, but with the onboard wireless, it would only connect at 11Mbps, which was no good. I went out and purchased a cheap Zonet Wireless N usb adapter, and that has worked flawlessly. Now streaming at 300Mbps with ease.

System is very quiet, you barely notice it running. Not a whole lot of heat comes out of it. System boots from cold to XBMC in probably about 20-25 seconds which is great.

All-in-all I am extremely happy with this purchase. I have been showing it off to as many people as I can.

So, if you're looking for a small, compact nettop computer that is quite capable of high-quality output, don't look any further.

Comment: In conclusion I'd happily recommend the ZOTAC MAG to any user looking for a low power, compact, capable and affordable HD PC.

Comment: Forget gaming (duh) with an Atom-based processor. "The MAG does a great job with a wide range of HD formats up to and including seriously high bit rate 1080p content. There is, however, a catch. Enabling the hardware acceleration bits on the Ion chip is absolutely crucial for smooth playback. Wit
