For a mainstream cooler the Corsair A50 did an exceptional job, and while it couldn’t quite match the cooling performance of the higher-end heatsinks it does have a better price to performance ratio than that of the more expensive offerings.

With this on sale it is a no brainer as a replacement to the stock cooler. Brings down load temperatures significantly and idle temps as well. Comes in very nice packaging with all the adapters and the fan resistor. The heatsink itself is nicely finished with the aesthetic top and the fan is easily fitted onto it. Installation is a breeze.

Overall a great heatsink that does its job and provides enough clearance for the ram I was using. Cools as well as CM 212+ and just as quiet. Great for budget to medium builds. I have my 8120 oc'ed to 3880 and it's barely breaking a sweat!

Keeps my FX6100 cool k around 33C on idle, and 46C under load. This is with a lower RPM fan that I'm using, as the stock one runs at 1600RPM and is fairly loud (wind noise). The fan itself is quiet, no clicking noise, no buzzing, etc.
All in all, I am not going to complain about this cooler. It works great, i7-3770k OC to 4.4ghz (stock voltage) running at ~25 degrees. However, the fins did manage to cut me multiple times when I tried to remove RAM sticks, plug in the CPU fan, case fans, etc. because of how HUGE this fan is. Beware that it will not fit in most Mid-tower cases.

I buy this for and old E8400 Core2Duo that I wanted to overclock a little bit. The temp are very low now. The mounting system is easy to install too.

This cooler is absolutely fantastic, no to mention that I got it for free. The only complain is that the fan is a bit loud even with the fan speed reducer, so I had to upgrade to a more silent fan which is not a big deal. I am running a 3570K and I am able to run with the fan completely off, I adjusted Ai suite so that the fan will kick in when CPU reaches 30C, even in some games the fan remains off which is quite impressive.

Product Warranty
NCIX provides a 30 day limited warranty on this product. The remainder of the 1 year warranty is provided by the manufacturer.
Corsair's DRAM memory modules all carry a lifetime warranty. The Flash Voyager, Flash ReadOut, TurboFlash, Flash Survivor and Mini Flash products all have a warranty for the expected normal life of the product (10 years). The Flash Padlock has a warranty of 3 years. The HX, TX, and VX Series of Power Supplies have a 5 year warranty, and Liquid Cooling products carry a one year warranty. In general, this means Corsair products are guaranteed to operate, as specified by their datasheet, and in the operating environment for which they were intended, for the life of the product or the extent of the warranty.
