An excellent product despite lacking 80plus certification; high efficiency and extremely clean power. The performance surprised a very seasoned and hard core reviewer, Gabriel Torres. My personal beef is that its sleeve bearing fan will reduce the service life vs a ball bearing one.
Today we're having a look at one of Corsair's "Builder Series" power supply units. The CX430.The CX430 is one of the most basic power supplies available from Corsair. The CX430 is not modular, is supposedly "only" 80 Plus (as opposed to Bronze, Silver, etc.) and (spoiler alert) uses a group

I bought it for a year but only used it for two and half months. The 4 pin connector burned and nearly killed my motherboard. I just received CX430 V2 as a replacement. I am not sure about the difference of CX430 and CX430 V2. However, it might be a good idea to purchase CX430 V2 instead of CX430 since CX430 V2 include 3 years warranty instead of 2 years. If the product is not on special, I will avoid purchasing this product and get a better one since the shipping cost to send it back was nearly $23 dollars.
Great budget PSU ($30 on sale). Fairly quiet, even when powering a HD 6870. I do wish it had a second 6-pin PCI-E power connector though. I don't like having to use adapters. +12V & +5V rails are almost spot on at ~250W load according to my multimeter.

This is a decent power supply, but has a slightly audible high-pitched noise. It's only possible to hear it if the room is absolutely silent though.

For what it's intended to do, it is very good. A cheap power supply that won't die out on you. 430W is more than you'll really need for a basic system. ONly drawback is lack of 80+ energy efficiency.

I have this in my i3 htpc build and its very quiet... this is more than powerful to handle an is and ssd. TV volume has to be very low in order to hear any fan noise. 100% recommended.

This unit took a bit of a step back from the one it appears to have replaced, the CX400 which was a great unit with a 30A 12v, 3yr warranty, 80+ certified and output rating at 40c vs. 28A 12v, 2yr warranty, not 80+ certified and output rating at 30c.
