OCZ certainly ups the Vertex 4's game with its new software, and we commend the fact that the company is striving to improve its products. If you were happy enough with Vertex 4 to buy the drive after our original review, surely you were happy to see the SSD's performance get even better in
The latest Vertex 4 firmware updates provide a noticeable boost in sequential write speed at 128GB and 256GB capacities, and the low queue depth sequential read performance issue has also been fixed.
With the Vertex 4 128GB model, OCZ have succeeded in creating a downright affordable high performance drive that will help change public perception of SSDs from bleeding-edge novelty to valid (and desirable) mainstream option.

With the 1.5 firmware already installed when I recieved this drive I have had zero problems with it. Fast for a 128 gig. Got mine for $100 price matched.

Pros, I bought this drive when it first released. They have made several firmware updates and turned this drive into a beast. With this drive alone I beat all of my friends loading into games or loading multiple programs. In RAID the drives can run over 800mbps. Comes with the mounting tray unlike it's Samsung equivalent.
Windows 7 & 8 can chew up a lot of space on it for swap files, still a bit small for every day carefree use, so it windows needes to be optimized for this drive.
Would be cool it it cam with optimum auto settings that windows could see without user input.

I use it as Windows boot drive and most programs that don't require speed run on Sata3 drive as secondary .
System ran 9 months with sata 2 only drive and 1 month with Vertex 4 drive flawlessly then I was getting Blue screen crash and mufti-reboots which appeared to be a timing issue .

Obviously you could spend more for a larger SSD but I've had this one for just over 3 months now and have only used ~60GB. I have windows on it, and the programs that I use most. It's a great performer, and the super fast boot time is really great.

The drive failed and took all my data with it. I thought with no moving parts a SSD would be more durable than a hard drive (infinite life in theory?). I was wrong. I have 8 hard drives running fine, but this thing failed.
installed one for my HTPC in the living room since it's onsale right now, not much to say, it does the job, super quick boot up and shutdown, spend minimal time indexing and maximal time watching movies, it's dope!

Computer boots to home screen in about 13 seconds now, down from around 24-25 seconds on a WD Black HDD. Easy setup and install, no problems with the bracket or mounting. Works just as it should. Also it's great not having to wait for the drive to spin up or warm up when you need a file.
