SATA
Serial ATA is a 1.5Gbps evolutionary replacement for the Parallel ATA physical storage interface used to connect storage devices, such as hard disks, DVD and CD rewriters to the PC motherboard. Serial ATA is scalable, enables design of smaller PCs, and will allow future enhancements to the computing platform.

Purchased this along with a new case for a system rebuild. Very good value for this product. SATA connection so no issues installing on new boards. LG has never give me any issues.

Got this on sale for $13 so I could install Windows 7 on my new build. Other than that, it is hardly ever used. At least it's another way to back up important data on DVD, if you remember to do it.
