Summary
Bought this as a second computer for myself, to take to work and game during breaks.
The last few laptops I've had have had glossy screen, and I'm really enjoying the matte screen. Colours on it are pretty good. Brightness is excellent.
Plays all the games I need it to (WoW and PUBG)
Battery lasts 4 hours watching Netflix
I plan on upgrading the RAM to 16 GB and installing an M.2 to help a bit with speed of loading
All in all, excellent for the price and weight.

For those that replaced the 5400 with m2, can you please tell me how do you do it? it looks like i just have to unscrew the 2 screw at the back But even after i unscrew 10 i am not able to open the panel!. it is very very stupid design

Summary
The 7.2K 1TB felt like running through a tarpit, so I bumped this up to a NVMe SSD (yes, there is a M.2 header under the cover) and it's a skookum choocher now.
It's able to handle everything I throw at it (StarCitizen, Overwatch, Dying Light) at respectable settings given it's a laptop.
I use this for work as well, so I'm grateful for the fairly understated design. Red LED keyboard aside...
A decent choice if you're willing to sink some time and effort into upgrades, but one should question whether one should just find a laptop with those upgrades pre-installed.

I was hesitant to jump in given the lack of reviews but this laptop, so far, has been amazing.
Bought this laptop as a replacement to an older Leneovo Ideapad Y570, and this laptop is a huge upgrade! The Lenovo has been updated to windows 10 and had a recently updated SSD, I would say this Asus still boots and runs faster, without having a SSD.
We have played League of legends for 3 ish hours straight and Overcooked (the game itself has issues) on steam with 4 people for, a good, 4 hours without issues and the laptop remaining fairly cool.
