Well thought out horizontal mobo case Verified OwnerVerified Owner

Horizontal mobo tray, plug-in SATA bays, roomy, well made, good looking, quick disassembly, easy access
A little large, and could offer more 120mm fan mounts.
I started out with a Prodigy M case from Bitfenix, which had a cute small form factor and a window. But it was a hassle to pack my micro-ATX in there -- cussing and fiddling about -- and the mobo was vertical. After a few days I started having trouble with my GTX970 (Asus Strix) and feared I had a bum graphics card, but it turned out it was the vertical mobo position; when I laid the Prodigy case on its side, everything worked reliably. Unf this put the power button underneath :-) so I decided to get a horizontal-mobo case.

Switching over to the new case was remarkably easy. Everything was so much easier to access than it was on the Prodigy case; no skinned knuckles or reaching in with long skinny tools. I really like the mobo tray, a good stiff sturdy sheet of metal that allows me to pick up and move the mobo w/o lifting by edges (it sags) or by the heat sink (yow). The tray lowers easily into the case w/o snagging on anything -- no juggling or tilting to get it seated -- and the GPU drops in cleanly w/o any fiddling about. Cable routing is a breeze. The designers meant this to be a friendly case for installers/modders/tweakers.

Pluggable 3.5in SATA drive bays (2 of them) w/front access are a nice feature. Removable side and top panels leave most connectors accessible -- you can move SATA cables around w/o disassembling further than that.

It's large -- quite a bit bigger than the Prodigy, kind of intimidating -- a bit too large for desktop, but fits nicely under a desk. I replaced the stock fans with Noctuas and have a nice quiet system. The "darth vader black" colour scheme is stylish when complete, but white might make for easier assembly and maint (it's very dark in there!). Build quality is remarkably good I thought, screw holes all line up properly, slide-lock tangs engage properly, nothing has to be forced or bent.

This is a case with room to grow. I could swap my microATX up to a full sized ATX, put in a larger PS, bigger graphics card etc. I am not really knocking the Prodigy, it is a nice case with an elegant form factor and quite attractive; but I don't think the PCI slot on my Asus GENE mobo is really up to the strain of having the big Asus Strix levering on it at 90 deg. Horiz mobo is the way to go imho and this case is a nice way to get there. Highly recommended.

Excellent case. plenty of room, love how the motherboard is horizontal rather than vertical. easy access. lots of fan area. tall enough for a Hyper 212 EVO cpu cooler. fits under the desk nicely and can use it as a foot stool lol.. presently using OC Q9650 4ghz 775 setup ,low level graphics card etc. but am now recieving my intended build . should have lots of room for 2 graphics cards , water cooling and radiators and all easily accessible . side handles are a plus.
Its all excellent , but i think the side panels could have had fan mounts also.
this is actually my first build though ive done plenty of other work. this case is perfect . easy to handle. easy to work in and on. cant say anything bad about it at all.

Experience: 2 Weeks

horizontal motherboard replacement, two front fans, side and top easily removable, no over-the-top design, separate section for hard drives and PSU (with filter), two hot swap bays, USB 3 front ports, space for 200mm fan on top, good cable routing option, removable motherboard tray
top fan mount holes do not appear to work for non-CM 200mm fans, limited heatsink height
this is a great case. It has enough room to play around in it thanks to all removable panels, and the removable motherboard tray makes it easy to install a motherboard, plus a huge hole to allow for custom heatsink mounting. There is not enough room for a heatsink the size of a 212 though. Lots of routing options, like stuffing all your cables in the lower section to allow the stock front dual 120mm fans to flow the necessary air in, upgradable to 140mm. Comes with molex adaptors on the front fans if you do not have the connectors on your MB. I added LED light strips on each side inside and it allows me to see the system through the grills. Only real problem is I had to add extra holes in the 200mm fan I got, even though the description says it accepts 200mm fans. I guess I should've got tge Coolermaster fan i stead, but so far it work well and isn't noisy. Overall happy with it.

Easy to carry
Compact for what you can cram into it
Poor air cooling
For a portable LAN rig with a full ATX mobo, this is a pretty decent case. For an air cooled primary gaming rig, this is mediocre case at best. For a liquid cooled primary gaming rig on the other hand it is again, pretty decent. The air cooling sucks but the liquid cooling potential is pretty good. With all air, CPU idle was at 32 with a Dark Rock 3 with an added Spectre pro PWM. CPU idle dropped to 29C with the same cooler when everything was moved over to a Thermaltake Core V31.

I recommend this case only if you either need portability or are going with liquid cooling.

- Easy to use
- Removable motherboard "plate"
- Easy cable management
- Lots of fan slots!
- Carry handles
- 2 x 3.5" Hot-swap HDD bays ("X-Dock")
This case is awesome for a PC enthusiast. It is quite large so make sure you check the dimensions. That said it is kind of the perfect size for a media server, test bench PC, or otherwise. Lots of room for components and cables. The top and both side panels are removable making it easy to access the inside of the case. The build quality is very good and this thing feels solid, it does not feel cheap. Carry handles for transportation are a nice touch because it does get heavy after it's built. Overall very impressed.

Experience: 1 Years

Feels and looks very sturdy
Carrying handles are well-positioned
Lots of air flow options
Two hot-swappable HDD bays
Easy to remove top and sides for part installation
Wide form factor can be too big for a desk
I bought this for a combination of an HTPC and a Steam box. A full tower would look weird next to a TV, yet smaller home theatre cases don't give a lot of room for customization or upgrades. Got this on sale and I'm glad I did. It's a unique case with a cool look to it.

The more permanent hardware (hard drives, optical drives, power supply) are tucked away in the bottom half of the case, leaving the top half nice and open. Be warned though, the case feels bigger than it looks online. Make sure it'll fit on your desk first! Mine sits on the floor since it looks a little too monstrous on the TV bench.

Experience: 6 Weeks

Room for extra long video cards.
Hard Drive, disc drive bays and PSU are below the motherboard tray.
Plenty of room to add fans or liquid cooling.
Needs space on all sides for proper airflow. This is not a con as much as a heads up.
To start I would like to say that this is a really well built case. Every part serves a function and there really isn't any wasted material. The EVO has a very open design yet all the space can be utilized.

Outside: Easy to remove side, top and front panels for quick access. The side panels have handles for carrying. The removable mobo tray is a helpful feature. The side panels don't have anywhere to mount fans but are open for airflow. The top has room for a 200mm fan. The bottom has a air filter for the PSU. The upper rear panel has room for a 120mm fan while the lower rear has room for two 80mm fans near the HDD bays.

Inside: I purchased this case with an R9 280X in mind. This 295mm card fits with inches to spare. There is more than enough room for pretty much any power supply since it actually mounts an inch or two out the back of the case.

Fans: The case comes standard with two 120mm fans on the front which just cover the airflow openings. Not sure if there is any reason to upgrade to 140mm fans. If you decide to use a CPU cooler height may be an issue if you plan to install a 200mm fan on top.

Wiring: Wiring does take a little thought if you're used to the conventional tower. If you get NCIX to assemble your PC, you may want to think about their "Premium Assembly" for $75 which pays closer attention to routing of wiring. I went with the standard 50 dollar setup and re-routed all the wiring the way I wanted it.

Overall this case has everything you could want for the asking price. It's also built like a Krogan. :)

nice, sturdy.
scratch, poor driver bracket.
this case is nice, sturdy. easy to build a system with this. mine has 7 scratches and dents. except that good case.

Experience: 4 Days

Rugged and well built
Excellent as a LAN box, test bench, or regular case
Easy to hide excess cables
Not enough fans
The x-dock power connector seems a little flimsy
Bought this as I was moving the computer next to the TV and my other case was too tall. Easiest build I have ever had -- from the removable motherboard tray, the x-dock for your hard drives, to the TONS of room under the mb for excess cables. It just proves how well thought out, quality hardware can lessen the headaches.
Do yourself a favor and work from the bottom up and plan your cable routing before you put the motherboard back in. Enjoy.

Experience: 30 Days

Size, carry handles,ease of use,
None so far
Bought this because my son needed a more portable case to lug to university. This a great case easy to build, lots of room. Their is room for almost anything you want to add. Very well thought out lots of room for cable management. Added the 200mm and a 120mm fan to complement the fans included. Would purchase again if the need comes up in a second.

Comment: The looks are great and the amount of space you get to work with is downright very decent for a mid-tower chassis. The fans are not silent, bit not too noisy either yet offer a nice steady airflow inside the chassis cooling down your high-end gear, and that's a very important aspect alright. The
