this power supply will work well for most graphics cards. However, if you are using a super high end card or multiple cards, you may need more power. 650W is more that enough for the 970. the power supply is reliable, and shouldn't fail on you.

I hear almost nothing when I'm running my new PC, which is handy when I'm running games and it's working much harder than it is when idle. IT was very east to install - no issues encountered. Definitely a great PSU. Would recommend it.

Summary
I have never had more issues with a power supply than I have had with this one, and they all seem to be fan related. My first power supply worked perfectly normal for about 4 months or so, completely silent, until a horrible grinding noise starts coming from the fan. I begin the week long rtv process and eventually receive a replacement power supply, although I had to pay $40 shipping to return the defective power supply! Anyhow I receive my new psu, install it, and within about 2 weeks I hear a grinding noise. Here i am a year later, the Dan still creates the grinding noise occasionally, mostly after gaming or other intense usage. Now I just stick a ruler in it. Overall horrible experience and horrible product. Better off to void the warranty and replace the fan yourself rather than rtv it. Even better off to not purchase.

I bought this to replace an old power supply which I suspected was not giving enough power to my new motherboard/CPU/RAM. Spinning up hard disks uses a lot of power. It had difficulty booting and recognizing some hard disks.
Lot's of Wattage. The modular ability is a nice feature.

At times, the fan made some loud noise which lasted 10 min. I made a video and uploaded to youtube.
It seemed to have stopped now that I am using it for 2 months.

It is pretty good. It certainly is better to have a lot of power specially if you are a gamer, you have a good video card and 3 hard disks.

Summary
This is a good quality low priced power supply. The performance of the power supply is good and I haven't had any problem with the sound coming from it.
The power supply is a bit of a cheaper model and so the cables, although adequate, are not as nice as my previous power supply. With that said, I probably paid $50 less for this power supply, so I will take slightly less quality feel the the cables (they look fine in my case) for that price.
