Pros

- Dual Core
- 64 Bit
- LGA775 pin format
Cons
- 1st gen dual core Intel (older technology)
- thermal properties and wattage are higher then newer Core Duo chips
- Only one temp monitor on chip
- no hyperthreading
Summary
When I bought this is was a good deal.. It came as a bundle $250 for this, ASROCK 77I65G mobo, 512 ram, and a case/psu. It was a steal and I damn happy. These are entry level Dual core CPUs that are pretty good but not as good as the newer Core Duo lineup. The hyperthreading (virtual 4 core) is disabled, the thermal & wattage properties are way higher, and theirs only one temp monitor on the die (between the cores). Core Duo's have one temp monitor on each core, hyperthreading, and better wattage/thermal properties.

It's a good chip to start with if you can get a good price on them.. They are LGA775 pin so you can always upgrade to a Core Duo later. They also are 64 bit capable.

Pros

Cheap, excellent package, easy to install.
Cons
Outdated, better deals to be had.
Summary
Bought this back when it was a better deal, don't think I would buy it now that there are better bang for buck products to be had (E4300). But there is no doubt that this is an excellent product.

Pros

Worth buying this processor for the price.
Cons
None.
Summary
Overclock this processor to more than 3.7 Ghz on my Gigabyte S3 motherboard with a Othos load temperature of about 61 degrees.

Pros

Price -- if you must have dual core!
Cons
Performance -- performs only marginally better than single core CPUs of similar speeds!
Summary
This is a decent option for those looking for dual core basic computing. A Core 2 Duo CPU is a way better option if you have an extra $100 in your budget.

Pros

Budget Dual Core
Good Performance
OC
Cons
Generates a fair amount of heat.
Summary
Picked this up to replace a P4 1.8 and so far performance has been excellent. I am able to multitask with ease...switching back and forth between applications, etc. Haven't tried gaming on it yet, but I think it should be pretty decent. Only negative is the heat, but a better case, cpu fans...will help to keep it down. Overall a good entry level dual core without breaking the bank.

Pros

INTEL ALL THE WAY!!!
I dont trust amd....sorry guys:P
Cons
For the price....a dual core z2.8mhz.....you cant beat it!
Summary
I bought this with a bundle deal for an upgrade to my mom's computer....i was impressed with the entire bundle ...... and the cpu is a good all round choice for a budget. Thanks NCIX!

Pros

Good price for dual core
Cons
Poor heatsink/fan
Summary
Built a system for a friend who wanted a Dual core without breaking the bank. Don't like the way the heatsink attaches the the m/b as it is hard to tell if it is attached properly. Didn't have alot of time to play with the system but the performance was okay but may show it's strength when multi tasking. On par with my Athlon 64 3000 or maybe a little slower.

Pros

Overclocks easily with proper air cooling.
Multimedia creation speed.
Multi-tasking performance.
Cons
Poor performance from factory heatsink and fan.
Summary
I have this CPU overclocked to 3.65Ghz on an ASUS P5LD2 Deluxe with the Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro heatsink and fan.

There have been no stability issues and I would definitely recommend this CPU to anyone looking for a decent overclocker in a dual core.

Cons
ya rien comme un core 2 duo...
Summary
S'te p'ti processeur la s'overclock a mort moi j'ai le liquid cool pi je l'apporte a 3,73ghz. Mais... pour un 3,73 je le trouve pas tres performant. on dirait qu'il lui manque kekchose...

Pros

good enough for strong multitasking
Cons
high heat output, nvidia issues
Summary
great, except for one thing, it is NOT compatible with the nforce 4 chipset, if you mix the two, you only get one core
