so far so good

Experience: 1 Days

Definitely better than the stock INTEL Heat Sink and Fan. It is a heavier heat sink. Pre-applied thermal paste. Easier to install than the Intel.
The plastic fan cage is so brittle, it behaves likes it's ten year old brittle plastic. Out of the box, you have to undo two screws, they're next to the fan cage, and a screw driver rubs against the plastic. I'm used to doing delicate work, and I still snapped off a piece of the cage.
So far core temps are very good. I7-2700K playing a video. 29 to 31C That's with two 120mm Corsair SP fans running at 50% of their max in a push pull config. With the stock intel "spotlessly clean heat sink" was 50C. Dirty heat sink 70C. I've had the CPU shut down due to over heating on two or three occasions just watching YouTube.

Experience: 10 Days

Quiet, and easy to install
Fragile, easy to break when install...
It's light, but easy to break during installation, so be careful

Experience: 2 Weeks

quite fan
cheap price.
heat sink wouldn't make contact with the CPU, it hovered over a mm above the surface of the CPU.
Flimsy plastic bracket to attach the heat sink to the motherboard.
I have built many computers in my life and have tried all sorts of heat sinks and water blocks and I have never had such a horrible time as with one as this. The heat sink bracket connects to the mother board by plastic pegs only. the heat sink screws to the bracket by two screws that screw into the plastic bracket, and you can't tighten them up, you can feel it striping the screw hole when you try to start to tighten it. And the worst part, is the bottom of the heat sink hovered about a mm above the CPU surface, even the thermal paste that came with the heat sink didn't make contact at all

Nice and quiet fan medium size and not expensive.
assembly and installation can be better like the intel fan.
I'll give it 8 out of 10.
Overall it is a very good product.

Experience: 7 Days

quiet fan, cheap
heatsink is entirely aluminum, poor heat conductivity
great budget fan, quieter than stock one

Experience: 2 Months

Cheap, silent, low profile.
Wide profile means it may not fit on all motherboards - check first to see that it will fit.
I purchased this cooler for a smaller case. It is quiet and has worked well. Mounting it on a mATX board meant the cooler was flush with one of the motherboard heatsinks.

Experience: 60 Days

More silent than intel stock cooler for sure.
Not a inconvenient for me, but for those who want to get more cool temperature than their generic heatsink, hum, if better, it is not really that much.
For 95 watt cpu max, cool correctly and more silent that my intel heatsink (core 2 duo). For the cooling performance, there is much better, and not that much pricier, but you have to get a properly computer case, and that was not my....case.

Experience: 90 Days

good quality and quiet
pricematch may be available
improves performance over stock heatsink and nice quiet fan

Experience: 2 Years

- Silent
- Reliable
- Cost effective
- None
I am not sure what other people are talking about but I had 0 problems with this cooling system. Installed on LGA 775 Core 2 for about 2 years now (bought from a local shop). Been working flawlessly. Price is unbeatable.

Features [ Edit | History ]

The Intel Core i5 for socket 1156 is expected to be released in Q3. Multi-compatible with both the new sockets and 775, this new Alpine series is definitely a perfect choice for those who would like to go for a future-proof cooler.

Designed for silent-enthusiasts and system builders – Alpine 11 Pro

Main features

•  Ultra quiet 92mm PWM fan with low noise impeller
•  Optimised heatsink efficient heat dissipation
•  Patented fan holder eliminates the buzzing sounds
•  Patented vibration absorption
•  Pre-applied MX-2
•  Easy installation with push pins

The Alpine 11 Pro is for users who look for an extremely quiet, high performance and easy-to-install cooling solution.

The Alpine 11 Pro features a more sophisticated acoustic design than the stock cooler. Thanks to the patented vibration absorption and fan holder, the cooler is barely audible – only 0.4 Sone at 2,000 rpm – a standard that the stock cooler cannot compete. With a 92mm PWM fan and a bigger heatsink design, the maximum cooling capacity of the Alpine 11 Pro achieves 95 Watts.

Moreover, the unique mounting system is very user-friendly and provides an absolutely transport safe solution. The cooler is fastened by screws, no back plate is necessary nor has the mainboard to be disassembled. The whole installation can be done in less than a minute. This is a totally peace of mind solution for Intel users.

Comment: Arctic Cooling Alpine 11 Pro is focused on silence, not on performance, as written on the box, "Ultra quiet cooling solution for Intel CPUs", and also by its TDP of just 95 W.

Comment: FrostyTech Review: An inexpensive, quiet, efficient but uninspiring cooler for less-than-85 W TDP processors.

Comment: TweakTown Review: The Alpine 11 Pro is a champ for a 95W or lesser processor. Height allowing, this is one of the perfect solutions to SFF or NTPC builds. The Alpine 11 Pro is near silent most of the time, even under full load.
