Great card for TV capture
WinTV software crashed often
Good TV tuner card.
Works great with Win x64
WinTV software is ok but it crashes often.
Using it with NextPVR with great results

Remote is almost not needed.

Experience: 2 Months

Price-Matched for: $129.44
Extremely well packaged (accessories inside the box)
Remote control looks pretty.
Compatibility with Windows 7 is 10/10
Good resale price
Best Hauppauge out there yet
No DVI input
No Component input
Only RCA (Composite) input (low-quality) though they still say this is HDTV-Compatible...
Adds too much wires at the back of your case/antennas and so on...
Used it once, I made a mistake buying this because it wasn't what I needed in the first place so I ended up selling it for $120 and lost a good $50.
Like I said, I've only tried it for one day and the results weren't the ones I was looking to get as I've Bell's Fibe and wanted to watch TV on my PC but finally the only thing I needed was an LCD monitor with at least one HDMI input. At first guess, I thought I would need a PC TV Tuner but then I understood that the Bell's received was the only thing I needed and plug it directly to the computer's monitor via HDMI. (Can be any monitor with HDMI you don't have to buy a TV Tuner monutor).

Experience: 3 Months

Everything works as it should
Not the best image
This card is pretty awsome and works great under 7 X64 with a standard definition shaw direct box and the ir blaster speed is as quick as the original remote which is a bonus! reasons of purchase: is because the remote was black LOL

Experience: 5 Days

Everything built in for media center.
Comes with everything to run two set top boxes.
Remote is a bit cheap feeling.
Blasters require more force to connect that I think should be necessary.
Volume level is a bit low.
I replaced a single tuner ATI Theater 550 Pro with this. I had been using a Microsoft USB IR Dongle/Blaster for set top box channel changing.

This tuner installs quickly and easily, with the exception of the blasters. I had no end of trouble getting Media Center to recognize them, and it turns out that they "click" in and take a bit more force than I you think is needed. The other oddity is that you need to install Hauppauge's WinTV software so that the blasters/ir receiver are recognized as an eHome receiver so that they can be used in Media Center.

Once all the software on the disc is installed and blasters are connected properly, setup was a breeze in Media Center, and the tuners function as expected when using the s-video/composite inputs and connecting to a set top box. Where I live I do not have OTA ATSC, and am not subscribed to cable tv (I get TV from my phone/dsl provider), so I cannot speak to the cable/ATCS capture performance.

As to the weakness above "Volume level is a bit low" there is a fix for this, which I found at the URL below. For me, I used the +15 registry setting and it brought it up to an acceptable volume level.

Experience: 3 Months

- dual tuners
- analog picture quality is decent
- plenty of accessories (but no FM receiver)
- remote isn't USB
- software is buggy
The analog picture quality is comparable to ATI TV Wonder 650. However, the ATI tuner looks slightly better. Unlike the ATI, the Hauppauge has greater difficulty with a poor signal.

Hauppauge's PVR software, WinTV, isn't bad. A clean layout, plenty of settings to change and an auto-tune feature. There may be a long lag to buffer the signal. I wouldn't recommend you install it alongside XP MCE: the installed codecs interfere with it.

Since the IR receiver is connected via the board rather than USB, drivers are needed for it to work. The IR receiver isn't very accurate. Sometimes it detects a button press as two or doesn't detect it the first time. It takes about one second for a command to be executed.

The IR blasters don't work with XP MCE, but will work with WinTV. Using Hauppauge's software to program the blasters is tedious. One has to hold down the buttons three times.

If you're looking for a dual TV tuner, the Hauppauge HVR-2250 is a good offering on the hardware side. It saves you from using another cable to get an extra TV signal. The channel changing is almost as fast as a TV. However, if you need only one signal or getting your signals from two different sources, you should look into other TV tuners.

Experience: 3 Days

-dual tunner (either analog or digital)
-hardware encoding/decoding
-Comes with low profile bracket
-Remote control (VERY CHEAP, afraid of breaking in my hand)
Bought this to replace my single tuner card and am very happy with it, works great with Windows 7 media center(need drives from Hauppauge)

Experience: 2 Weeks

Dual tuner. Works in MediaPortal
Slow channel changing in MediaPortal
Currently using this in MediaPortal without any major issues. One great thing about this card is that it is a dual tuner card. I'm only using analog right now, so I can record one channel while watching another at the same time. The channel changing in MediaPortal is a bit slow, however, but it's not a dealbreaker for me.

Experience: 6 Months

TV on my computer, that's it.
Analog signal is crap.
Remote doesn't work.
Black bars on all sides.
The remote stopped working after 5 days, wouldn't work in both Media Center and their software WinTV. The video quality is, quite frankly, awful when compared to what I get on my home television. Sure it's Analog, but the quality is just awful over this card. Even though the signal I receive is in widescreen, this card refuse to put the video in 16:9, I'm stuck in 4:3 with black bars on all sides, just terrible.

Experience: 3 Weeks

With this card and it's excessaries I can do just about anything I can dream up.
Ease of use.
Easy to install.
Like the remote.
Picture quality is just as good as my HD Shaw digital PVR cable box and has all the same functions.
Box came with lots of usfull extras like extra sencer for remote, usfull suite of tools on set-up
Another remote to ad to the pile I seem to have lieing around.
Channel menu needs more options.
have'nt used all features yet so may update  later?
I was going to buy this from NCIX but my wife bought it for me as a surprise. I'm so happy with it I decided to write review anyway. We have a PVR at home I'm happy with and this device matches it step for step at a fraction of the cost, not to mention the storage room I have on computer to record, store and play back movies. Could have saved a few bucks if I bought it here but the wife wanted to contribute to my new build ! Gotta love her for that!!!

The WinTV-HVR-2255 has two tuners for watching one TV program while recording another: with the built-in dual tuners, you can either watch one channel while recording another or you can record two channels at once.

Create your own personal Digital Video Recorder! Record analog cable TV shows to your PC's hard disk with our built-in high quality MPEG-2 hardware encoder. You can also record high definition digital ATSC and clear QAM digital cable TV to disk in the original digital quality. Use the WinTV-Scheduler to schedule the recordings of your favorite analog or digital TV programs. Play the recordings back to your PC screen at any time.

Windows Media Center compatible: Windows Media Center supports two TV tuners. Use the Media Center scheduler to schedule your TV recordings. And WinTV-HVR-2255 has Windows Vista Premium certification. New! Now supports clear QAM with Media Center TV Pack 2008, Windows 7 and Windows 8 ( with Media Center Add on)

Clear QAM TV channels are unencrypted digital TV channels broadcast by your local cable operator. Many cable operators in North America are transmitting the high definition ATSC channels on their cable networks. They also broadcast the basic cable channels in using clear QAM. You can use Windows Media Center from Windows 7 to watch and record these channels.
Note: you need to be using Windows Media Center with TV Pack 2008,Windows 7 or Windows 8 for clear QAM TV compatibility.

ATSC digital TV is the over-the-air HD digital TV for North America. ATSC digital TV typically requires an antenna for reception, and is currently broadcast in 200 cities, with over 1500 TV stations. ATSC broadcasts range in resolution from standard definition up to the high definition 1080i format. The WinTV-HVR can be used to watch and record all ATSC formats.
Note: ATSC digital TV is NOT digital cable TV or digital satellite TV. ATSC is digital "over-the-air" TV.

ATSC digital TV brings you sharper pictures and enriches your PC's multimedia experience with near CD quality sound. WinTV-HVR's ATSC digital TV tuner adds great features to your TV viewing: high definition TV reception, automatic identification of channel names plus records high-definition digital TV programs to your PC's hard disk in an MPEG-2 format without any loss in quality.
