Experience: 2 Days

fast and overclockable
Very good processor for the price. This is a processor that is designed for overclocking it does get up to some pretty high speeds.

Experience: 1 Years

-fairly easy install
-comes with paste and fan
-very good overclocking
-little pricey
-hyperthreading is still not used in very many programs
It's quite good the price is a bit much over the locked version but it does give a pretty good speed boost when overclock. I've got it sitting at around 4.4ghz stable right now. I would say it's probably you're best bet for a CPU right now or the locked version if you don't want to overclock.

Experience: 9 Months

Rather low power consumption for the speed and power you get. Very powerful. Many times, paired with the right hardware, these can be overclocked to insane speeds.
Could be cheaper at this time period.
Even if you're not planning on overclocking, this CPU packs a lot of bang for the buck.

Runs relatively cool even under heavy loads at stock speeds.

Very highly overclockable. Some folks have had great luck getting one of these CPUs to 5GHz or greater.

Experience: 6 Months

Extremely fast
Fairly quiet
Handles high load (video encoding) no problem. Doesn't generate excessive heat. Intel really has the market cornered this generation.

Experience: 1 Years

Handle high stress loads as well as the heat generated from it.Have not had a problem at all except CPU heat sink.
Under high loads and high heat the CPU FAN and heat sink want to pop off my sabertooth (MB)
Happy other then heat sink wanting to disconnect from Motherboard. Have order new heat sink with hopefully a quieter fan.

Experience: 7 Days

Speed; K-series, so OC-able; rock-solid
Price still a bit high IMO; 'old' tech
Upgrade to this from AMD Athlon II x3 450 [unlocked the 4th core! w00t] and LOVING IT! I think it's being held back right now as well due to a under-powered PSU. Once the PSU is upgraded as well, I know this processor is going to be a powerhouse.

**CURRENT BUILD [at time of writing]**
PSU: CoolerMaster 500W [to be upgraded very soon]
MB: ASrock Extreme 3 Gen3 Z68
RAM: 2x4GB [8GB] DDR-3, G.Skill SNIPER [F3-12800CL9D-8GBSR]
COOLER: Corsair H80 push-pull
HDD: 1x500GB WD; 1x320GB Samsung
SSD: 1xOCz Vertex 3 60gb, 1xOCz Vertex 2 60gb in RAID-0
GPU: 1xZotac GTX 550ti, 1xEVGA GTX 550ti - SLI

Experience: 1 Years

-Very good performer for value
-Great overclocking potential
-Still a valid and solid choice even with newer generation processors on market
-None for me.
Very happy with this chip.
Has given me results im happy with, overclocked it stable from its base 3.4ghz to 5.0ghz with hardly any effort, and most people i know can get theirs to 4.5ghz+ as well.
Be it for multitasking or gaming, its a solid performer.
Even now with Ivy bridge on the market, i still recommend it.

Experience: 8 Months

Powerful and excellent performance for the price
non that I can think of
This CPU overclocks like a champ. At this price point, it is the most solid processor you will find.

Experience: 5 Months

Fast and efficient. With hyper threading acts like 8 cpus
Great processor at a good price point. Get real bang for your buck

Experience: 6 Months

- excellent speed, overclocking abilities.
- none so far.
I purchased that around Dec 2011 and so far it performed flawlessly. Excellent speed. Using ASUS P8Z68-V Pro GEN3 + Noctua D14 I am running the machine at 4.8Ghz without any issues so far. It is a good product.

Comment: As you may have guessed by now, the Sandy Bridge launch is a massive undertaking which bridges the mobile and desktop markets at the same time. For the purposes of this review, we will only be taking a look at the desktop parts i7-2600K and i5-2500K CPUs but even these two products only scrape the

Comment: One of the big changes in the Intel Core i7-2600K is the requirement of an entirely new processor socket, LGA1155, which requires a new set of motherboards based on the Intel P67 or H67 chipset.

Comment: After gawping at the performance of the quad-core, non-Hyper-Threaded Intel Core i5-2500K for a while, we turned our attention to the Core i7-2600K. This 3.4GHz quad-core, eight-thread CPU dominated the performance charts in all but the most multi-threaded of applications. Only in the Cinebench R11.
