Really Cheap Quiet Sufficient performance

Cons

Summary
I bought this little cpu for replacing my father's dead computer after it drank too much coffee :(. It was really hard to find better bang for the buck than this if you were building a no-frill computer. It is little slower than pentium class, but you pay as little as half of the money. Beside being one of the cheapest cpu available, it sips less power, and stays quiet even under full load. This is really great for mom and pop computer.

Pros
Cheap and fast enough

Cons
Nothing

Summary
Purchased this for a budget light duty gaming machine to be paired with a Radeon 6670. At this price range an AMD APU was a strong consideration. I went with the Celeron/GPU combo for potential future upgrades. An i3 and a 7770 could easily be put in this machine that would surely destroy any APU upgrade.

Summary
For this price, $39.99 on sale, you don't really have anything to say about it. Best value CPU, it comes with a fan!! lol, you can easily build any HTPC or office desktop with it within $200. I recommended a lot friends already.

Summary
I am impressed with this little CPU. I grabbed this to retire my FreeNAS box running a E7400 with 4GB RAM. For a basic system, this runs great.
I would buy again for a basic build or very light gaming. Great price but even better with PM.

|
Pros
- quite fast Sandy Bridge dual core - very low price for the speed it gives - low temps means low noise
|
Cons
- no Hyperthreading may not be future proof
|
Summary
Bought this for a low cost build meant for browsing internet and other small uses. Pretty solid CPU for it's low price, made out of Sandy Bridge but without Hyperthreading and Turboboost but still has 2.5GHz. You still save around 80$ compared to the i3 2100 which I was previously looking at.

Pros
It is almost September 2012 and this is still a decent processor. It uses very little electricity, a couple of watts on idle. It keeps up to my ladies facebook Flash games with GTX450 I bought it for $39.99cdn I notice Almost Zero difference from the i3 550 I was running except a few more % of the CPU being Utilized
|
Cons
Some twit is going to convince someone they need the latest i7 over this CPU for doing day to day tasks (even playing a few games out there)
|
Summary
This was a downgrade for future upgrade for us. We bought a LGA 1155 board with this lower end CPU in it. Will upgrade the CPU at a future date. Had a LGA 1156, i3, which is now in the kids computer still running fine.

Summary
Surprisingly capable little processor. Put it in my mini-itx box, serve as an HTPC and basic computing device, paired with an SSD, everything is snappy, I don't play games, so can't comment on that. But from document processing to video playback, this processor doen't even break a sweat. For $40, it is great bargain.
