Experience: 2 Months

Very well built
driver errors
Would have preferred to see green or blue switches
You get the quality you expect from Corsair but the driver needs some improving (Still great considering it's one of their first ever keyboards). I would have preferred green or blue cherry mx switches but that's a personal preference. None-the-less, it's a great keyboard and I am happy with my purchase.

Experience: 5 Months

Cherry MX Red key switches
Professional and sleek aluminum body
Extremely bright blue backlight
Keycaps are easily removed
Macro keys are not mechanical
I just love this keyboard. Corsair is just so good with professional construction and build quality. Would definitely buy the successor to this product, the K95.

Experience: 1 Weeks

-Solid build
-Cherry MX red
-Awesome backlighting
-Dedicated Media buttons
-USB pass trought
-On board Memory for the macros
-Semi-mechanical (not a big problem)
-The non-mechanical keys have no backlighting
This keyboars is purely awesome. As I say, not all the keys are mechanical (ESC,F button,pg up,pg down, delete, insert, home, macro).

Experience: 2 Months

High Quality
Easy cleaning
Nice looking
adjustable lightning
MX RED and Rubber dome
Some Led might burn but its covered by the corsair waranty.
This is the best keyboard I ever had. It is really solid, comfortable, easy to clean and it looks awesome.

The combination of rubber dome and MX red are really useful to instinctively know when your hitting F1 instead of 1. The function keys are slightly lower than the other for the same reason. You don't want to accidentally press them.

Some LED burned out on mine but its covered by the warranty and if not its not that hard to replace them. (you need to use the same color because other colors use less voltage)

The volume wheel is really effective. You can lock the windows keys but not the combos. The numpad light are not too bright (like the lycosa) The combos are easy the program. The back-light is not too dim or too bright and it is adjustable. You also have a full power USB in the keyboard in fact its just and extension cable so it gives you an accessible usb port directly on your motherboard.

Seriously the best keyboard I had.

PS: If you don't care about the back-light and combo keys go with the K60. It's basically the same but without the combos and back-light

Experience: 8 Months

- Great backlight
- Good Quality
- Mechanical keys (at least the majority are mechnacial)
- Good price compared to many other keyboards
- Nice finish on keyboard
- Could of included extra keys like the other fps model
- Wrist rest could be better but still above average
- Could of made all keys mechanical to avoid complaints and confusion
Overall the keyboard is great really all keys not being Mechncial is not a huge deal since the response time is still the same. The wrist rest is not bad considering its built for gaming and it does feel conftable.

Overall someone who is using this keyboard for other things besides gaming such as writting stories, office work, etc you may be disapointed since this keyboard is not ergonomic at all and its built for gaming.

Experience: 2 Days

feels awesome
not fully mechanical, not a big deal though.
I went from a logitech G15 to a Razer Black Widow Ultimate to this Corsair Vengeance K90, and I must say, I am so happy with the decision. The black widow is what got me hooked on mechanical keyboard, but i had a few gripes with it. first of all, the mx cherry blues feel great, but they are really noisy. this is just a preference thing, but i really love the feeling of typing on the reds on the corsair k90. i also love the look and construction of this keyboard. the black widow was glossy black plastic, which showed smudges and just looked cheaper than this keyboard.

as far as the whole hybrid mechanical/rubber dome debacle, it hasnt really given me the same problems everyone else has been having. there is obviously a noticeable difference between the two types of keys, with the mechanical keys being superior, but it really doesnt bother me. 99.9% of my keypresses are on mechanical keys, and the feeling of the rubber dome is still pretty high quality. there is one thing that is really bothering me though. the backlight on the rubber dome keys, both the F keys and the macro keys, is quite a bit dimmer than the backlighting on the mechanical keys. it would just improve the overall esthetics to have the backlights be the same brightness. its not that big of a deal, but it is noticeable.

this is the best keyboard i have ever owned, and that included some of the other top keyboards on the market. would highly recommend.

Experience: 2 Months

Comfortable, great layout, macro keys very helpful
uses two usb ports, esc key not mech.
Overall I'm very happy. My first mechanical keyboard so it took some getting used to, but now I'm very happy I made the switch. The esc key not being mechanical is my biggest peeve, but other than that very satisfied with the purchase. The macro's for mmo's made it a no brainer.

Experience: 3 Months

mechanicals keys and the backlight
took some time to get use to the sensitive keys ,but thats my probleme
overall cant go wrong whit this keyboard at a good price

Experience: 5 Days

- Backlight looks great - individual LEDs
- brushed aluminum looks great, feels great
- non-recessed keys makes for easy cleaning
- Dedicated media keys with a nice volume scroller.
- nice wrist rest
- Sturdy frame
- Legs that open horizontally instead of vertically.
- 2 year warranty
- Not completely mechanical
- Way too many macro keys with no tactile difference between them meaning you will have to look where you are pressing.
My Razer Blackwidow Ultimate had broken on me so I picked this keyboard up.

First off, cherry mx reds. If you are coming from blues, these will feel mushy the first time you use it. Coming from a standard dome keyboard, these will probably feel more familiar than mx blue/brown.

There is no tactile feedback whatsoever that you pushed the keys. It took some getting used to, but I'm now back at the point I have found the actuation point and am getting used to not bottoming out the keycaps. Reds are much quieter than blues, so much so I think I could take this keyboard to work and not have my coworkers yell at me for my noisy keyboard.

I have been finding my right hand at times actuates the L key. Might have to do with my hand. Since the RED mx's require less pressure than the blues that I was used to, I imagine this will simply take time. The actuation point of mx reds are very shallow, so any weight whatsoever on a key will activate it.

I have not noticed any ghosting or key repeats while using this key. The software seems to handle this pretty well. I also tested the 20 key roll over but only tested 10 keys. All 10 keys were sent. While the purists love n key roll over I only have 10 fingers so 10 is honestly enough for me. It's a purist feature to have a higher amount, but while gaming I only ever have one hand on the keyboard, so pressing 4-5 keys at the same time is the best I can do.

While not all keys are mechanical cherry mx reds (you can easily find which keys aren't and are from other reviews), I don't find it too much of a negative. To be honest, I rarely use the ones that aren't. It would've been nice if they were all mechanical, sure... but the most used keys are mechanical.

The layout is standard for me, with a long shift, long backspace and normal enter key. This was a requirement for me, and I feel one of the most important things about keyboards. So much so, I will disregard a keyboard no matter what price / features are there if they don't match my preferred layout.

One of the greatest features about this keyboard though is how the keys are elevated off the backplate and not enclosed or recessed. I smoke at my computer, and my keyboards usually fill up with ash and other such debris. The keys being elevated means this is much easier to clean. The brushed aluminum is also easier to keep clean than a glossy surface such as the razer black widow ultimate.

Another nice feature is that the legs on the underside of the keyboard open left-to-right. I don't know how many times I've closed one leg inadvertently by pushing the keyboard backwards or pulling it forward. It's a nice touch that shows this keyboard's design had some real-world thought behind it.

The macro keys however are the only weakness of this keyboard for me. It will be a personal preference for you though. Myself, I don't really use the macro keys and 1 column of 6 would've sufficed. Instead I have 18 keys + 3 profiles giving me 54 macros. I'll be lucky if I use 5 macro keys throughout the entire life of the keyboard. The macro portion measures adds about 6 cm or 2.5 inches to the width of the keyboard. The recessed positioning is more awkward than useful for me. I believe if they were elevated it would be easier to use. Since I have small hands, my hand has to completely leave the home rows to activate them. As they are at a recessed position, my hand must move further than if they were elevated. Likewise I feel they should be on a 30 degree gradient where the G1 column is higher then the g3 key to decrease the distance the hand must move.

I've had a few long gaming sessions with this keyboard and the wrist rest does it's job of supporting the left hand and keeping any sweat from slipping your hand. It's comfortable for the most part and I'm glad it's there.

The keyboard was very stable on the desk and very well built. The aluminum face plate probably has more to do that than anything.

One of the common complaints with all individually backlit keyboards are that some LEDs just don't work. Given on average 104 lights, if there is a 1% failure rate on LEDs, then that's 1 key on a keyboard. Corsair's RMA process is very easy and one of their strengths as a company. This is the reason I felt safe buying a backlit keyboard from them.

This is corsair's first version or rookie debut of their keyboard. I expect the next version will address a number of the complaints with this keyboard, since they appear to be the same for everyone.

At the end of the day, I wouldn't necessarily say this is the best keyboard or end-all-be-all of mechanical gaming keyboards. It is however a solid keyboard that you can't go wrong with. I would purchase this keyboard again and recommend it to anyone.

-backlighting is beast
-not all keys are mechanical

Cherry MX Red mechanical key switches

Cherry MX Red key switches are the best of the best - they provide the sensitivity and low operating force that professional gamers love. Reaction times are ulra-fast and responsive for quicker double and triple taps. The action is predictable and linear unlike lesser gaming keyboards that have a tactile bump or the annoying click of a typist's keyboard.
