Experience: 3 Months

Cheap, really fast when working. Was the first ssd at a 1$/gig
Drive deleted my partition one time and now randomly freeze.
I had random freeze 1 or 2 times a week with a clean Windows 7 install for a couple weeks. 1 morning the computer didn't boot up, fired up a livecd to find my partitions gone.

I installed the destructive firmware and reinstalled Windows. So far i experienced a couple freeze but they seem less frequent and i didn't get the no partition problem.

I guess you get what you pay for. I paid 100$ a couple month ago to test SSD and i'm happy with the speed.

I will test it a couple weeks but if it still freezing i'll RMa diretly to OCZ because NCIX warranty is over(30 days)

- Plastic is recyclable
- DoA on first install
I was pretty excited about what a good deal this 128GB drive was (all geared up for my new HDTV) but the case I wanted wasn't ready. Unfortunately, I didn't get my new case until after a month I purchased this SSD. Upon opening it, no power. Tried on a different computer, nada. Tried upgrading its firmware, drive was not detected. Tried on my laptop, same story - no detect. The drive didn't even seem to have powered up (though I can't really tell being non-mechanical but there was no heat produced on it).

I requested an RMA and they gave me a # the next day. Just shipped it - we'll see how this is handled. For now one star - seeing the trouble I had to expense a new bubble envelope and mailing it.

Experience: 2 Months

Fast boot, fast read/write.
Really happy with that SSD after putting it into my laptop where there were 7200RPM hdd before. The performance was boosted by a lot. Also, since nothing is turning, it is quiet nowGot it on rebate + got LG DVD writer for free. I recommend!

Experience: 3 Months

data loss - although latest firmware seems to fix the problem after 5 days of testing. OCZ rma the drive with octane;)
need to upgrade firmware many times until you find one that works
OCZ Petrol 128GB

Since I bought this drive I didn't have a failure. But before cloning the customers data I Had the latest firmware updated on i, but a few months later when I went to give the system to the customer, windows wouldn't boot and there was like 70+ errors in chkdsk. Also I had no way to recover the info in my spare system as the drive kept freezing the pc. So i did a low level format, then updated the firmware again. I sold the driver the another customer, and 2nd day after cloning the data, the drive had 70+ errors in chkdsk. Well OCZ replaced the drive with octane 128GB (advanced rma). I think got the new drive and installed it and cloned data, meanwhile i took the petrol and used the latest firmware, and now anytime i save data on the drive, it didn't error up. I tested file copies and mp3s and large files in tests 10 times. and a lot of chkdsks and no problems. So the latest firmware is a must and fixes most of the data loss/corruption issues. So you know i did 5 days of testing with the new firmware before sending the drive into ocz for rma (I had to due to advanced rma).

I used ocz toolbox 3.02.11. 3.02.06 was the previous version i used that caused problems. Although when I tested the stock firmware I am not sure if I ran into problems but I remember the drive being difficult during benchmarking and needed to be formated.

Its funny I remember reading reviews on here how someone drive died (2 of them) and I was thinking not my drive, until I powered up the system and got the chkdsk errors. haha. I had to reinstall all windows and clone data for that customer (doing all work all over again) onto a kingston v200+ 128GB which worked out well. Funny how OCZ can release a drive without proper testing and/or testing firmware releases, because I am sure it was a firmware release that caused this mess (earlier release in feb).

Experience: 29 Days

speed is nice when paired with a sata 2 device
Low price with promo (20$ gift card and 20$ postal rebate)
ssd drive failed after 29 days
When I first got the drive I installed the lasted firmware.

Drive seemed to work good but I had a few system freeze/lockup and 29 days later the drive froze (so did win7) and after a hard reboot my alienware m17x r2 would hang at the bios HD detection forever but worked fine when I took the SSD out.
NCIX is cross-shipping me another one (took expressRMA when I bought the ssd) I hope this one will be better but there are lots of report about petrol drive dying early. I would avoid this drive.
I would have given it 3 stars but the fact that many of them seems to die early (and not just mine) made it a 2 stars. I would avoid the petrol line.

Experience: 14 Days

Fast, easy install
Corrupted data, windows failed to boot after 2 weeks
I bought this for my Laptop.
I cloned this SSD from my HDD, and replaced it with my HDD. My laptop has a SATAII interface, but it made a HUGE difference in speed. I was really really happy for 2 weeks.
One day I restarted my computer and it failed to boot.
So I returned it and got a better brand.
I lost two weeks of work and wasted two days of my time and energy dealing with this issue.
Don't risk using this drive on your main/work computer.
If you do get this SSD, make sure you create  daily backups.

Cheap SSD, but it seems that Agility 3 is even cheaper
Still waiting, hopefully it doesn't...
Bought the drive on 31 of March.
I didn't dare attempt to use this as the boot drive, so I still have Windows 7 on my old 7200RPM magnetic drives.

Although not having Windows on the ssd, the games that I play already eat up nearly 70GB, so barely enough room for Windows anyway. (blame Shogun 2 for occupying 30GB...)

Be warned, there's a lot of rage and anger on the reliability of this ssd. I haven't had any problems so far but I hope not.

Anyway, I have a mATX board so no AHCI option, not even RAID.
However, loading time in Shogun 2 is considerably faster, probably less than half compared to that on my old 7200RPM drive.

We'll see how far this ssd can go before it malfunctions.
I probably should have gotten a vertex 2 or agility 3, or even A-DATA ssd, but too late.

Experience: 1 Months

- Very good capacity / price ratio
- Best compatibility for older SATA1 systems
- Not any faster than the Vertex Plus lineup, even with its controller improvements
- Async ram optimization
Bought this for a really old laptop that had SATA connections, for shockproof and performance purposes. This drive will almost saturate the SATA150 standard for both read/write, but performance will almost double with newer SATA chipsets. The difference is, the newer drives with Sandforce controllers don't play very nicely with old SATA standards so this is about as cheap AND as effective in performance boost as you can get. Almost the same price as the smallest 2.5" HDD available.

Experience: 5 Weeks

Cheap, faster than hdd
Nothing Yet, maybe a little slow.
So far no problems with it, threw it in a Sata 2 laptop so not expecting it to kill in speed, still is pretty fast compared to 5400 rpm hdd. more to extend battery life. Which it does. Have not had any problems that others are complaining about. Might just be lucky for now but either way thats what the garantee is for. As with any drive always have a backup of important stuff.

Experience: 1 Months

Faster than HDD
Horrible quality control
Two drives dead within a month.
Had one drive die after about 3 weeks of usage. Reallocated sectors started to appear followed by random lockups followed by the drive finally failing to boot.

NCIX gave me an exchange which had reallocated (bad) sectors right out of the box. Then that one started to exhibit random lockups as well.

Fortunately, NCIX offered me a refund despite being outside the normal return policy. That's the only good experience about this purchase.
