Summary
Bought this machine for a friend and did a clean install of Win8.1 on an Intel SSD and installed a 1.5 TB storage drive. The screen is sweet and crisp. The keys seem solid and the track pad is still awkward for a person used to a mouse. The peripheral connectors are solid, especially the power adapter which is a 90 degree stub. It's easy to access 2 HDD's and 2 slots for memory, just undo a screw and rip off the back cover. Driver assist from Asus.ca is a PIA if you want to do a clean install, FYI. I got 2 faults in DM that I'm hoping will sort themselves out eventually. Overall, looks good to me and I look forward to my friend's opinion!
update January 19: After about a month she tells me that she LOVES this machine: the only problem she had was with the trackpad. It's not very good and the only way to disable it is thru the BIOS. Also, the 5400RPM 1.5 TB drive is no good for utorrent, so I installed a 750 GB 7200 RPM drive in it's place and that works well. This is a great desktop replacement and I recommend it to anyone!
