Experience: 20 Days

-Decent price
-HDMI out is what I was looking for
-says channels are scrambled when connected directly to cable
Bought this because my Rogers converter box does not have HDMI out. When I connect this to the digital converter, it cannot pick up any channels. When I connect directly to the cable, it says all channels scrambled. WASTE!

Experience: 3 Months

Free HD TV
Records to USB drive
Good price on sale
None so far
Good ATSC box. Haven't used it much but was able to pick up all the local stations with it and a decent antenna. Would recommend if on sale.

Experience: 1 Days

Little !
Not the most rapid for searching the channels
Cut the cable ! This is why I buy this item. Images are perfect quality. Be patient to find the channels. In Quebec City, Radio Canada appear in the list with no signal. To be continued !

Experience: 3 Months

- Price
- Records OTA TV
- Built in (simple) TV guide
- Works great to watch TV, pause live TV, and record current and upcoming programs.
- Recording issues occasionally when pausing live TV. Occasionally it exits and goes to live TV. Also, when rewinding or fast forwarding, it sometimes goes in the opposite direction?!
- Cheap remote. Sometimes has slight delay when pressing buttons.
- would be nice to have the USB port on the back so the USB cable doesn't stick out.
- Software ok.
Overall, once you get used the the functions and how the remote works, it works really well and is an amazing price for what you are getting. Would definitely recommend.

Experience: 1 Days

Works way better than expected!
* No internal clock. Uses station's PSIP data to display time and schedule events.

*I lost channel scan while 'playing' in menu area. Had to re-scan channels. This happened way too easily. Not sure what I did. Easy to fix but will be a pain if it happens too many times.
Lots of great features. HDMI out at full HD. Records to fast memory stick. I picked up an ADATA 32 GB USB 3.0 stick for $16. (Another great deal). It records, pauses and plays "time shifted" without any problems. You can replay content through the units play back, or pull the stick and load to your computer.

I had read the tuner wasn't very good. I live in an area in Coquitlam that is shadowed by Eagle Mountain. When I first set up for OTA. it took a long time to find a good spot for my antenna. Even with that my TV has a hard time with CBC. So when I bought this I thought it may not do as good a job as my TV working with my antenna setup. It seems to work as well as my Samsung TV:)

Also it has a loop out (Needs to be configured in Set Up) so that I can daisy chain my TV behind the Homeworx. In this way I still have the 'raw' TV signals from my antenna going to my TV. That means I can watch one program while I record a different show on the PVR.

Great value for even if you don't get it on sale!

Experience: 5 Days

Easy setup. No TV to free TV in less than 5 minutes!
None so far.
Setup was a breeze. I attached one end to the $25 antenna (Digiwave ANT-2084) and the other end to the TV, turned it on and let the auto search run its course.

fyi, I was able to pick up super clear Global, City TV, CBC, Omni 1 & 2, TVO and some US channels from Richmond Hill, with the antenna inside my living room. I reckon it depends on where you live so YMMV.

Experience: 30 Days

An excellent alternative to cable television and the ability to record on the fly or schedule recordings of your programs, unlike many other devices out there. Clear QAM support for countries other than Canada, small and flexible as well.
Clear QAM not supported in Canada, and not by Rogers, Shaw or Cogeco. Have to request the Clear QAM firmware update  that adds features to the standard firmware as shipped with the device.
This is a great device to get free OTA television service without paying for service. You'll have to pair it with a very good antenna with a decent amplifier and noise filtering, and then you can easily receive many digital television stations and radio channels. You can record on the fly or schedule program recording but you can't use the device while it's recording so setup a splitter before the unit to your television or monitor and you're set to go. Its great for those that only have 1 or 2 tv's in their home or need it at their cottage.

Experience: 3 Months

Excellent value - Get off Cable, get PVR and Digital Media advantages. Buy this unit if you are looking to save money while still having access to HDTV station broadcasts in your area.
UI is clunky.
The unit is excellent value if you are considering the option of going off cable and want to save money.
You will not get all the speciality channels that you were used to viewing (spike, food, oprah, whatever).
But you will have access to the Strong HDTV broadcasts of your local stations so you can keep in touch with the news, and other local interests. You may get lucky and pick up some of the strongest US broadcasts if you are close to their border/transmitter.
Check out TVFool on Google. It's a weba based utility that will quickly estimate the TV stations you can pick up in your area based on postal code.
If you are WAY far from City centres, definately check out TVFool before picking up this unit. You may only have CABLE as an option if you are too far from transmitters.
You *WILL* need an HDTV antenna to pull in the signal to your HOmeworx unit. The bigger your antenna, the better your reception. Budget for the cost.
Make sure you have all the necessary cables (coaxial required from antenna to homeworx unit).
Enjoy! PVR'ing on this is a nice convenience, and you can play music/photos/videos from your USB key/USB HDD.

Experience: 7 Days

Small, It just works
No HD, Low Software features
Bought it on Sale, - $45. I will buy another one before the sale is over - LOVE IT, HDTV - I can pickup 7 Channels in East Van. 75-100% signal - I have line of sight to Seymour towers. No HD but it keeps cost down. You can add your own USB ext - for PVR and pause live TV - Works GREAT! USB Stick are too Slow and makes recording choppy. Electronic Program (TV GUIDE) is nice. Software could use some improvements. Needs SLOW MO playback, chapter skip

My antenna is an old coax cable, the ends is split into a T shape. Google it to build your OTA./shoe box. Works better than the ones you pay for. Try this first - Its free.

CUT the cable cost - GOOD BY SHAW CABLE! I don't watch enough TV. I got Netflix/Crystal Clear HD - 7 channels - I will miss my Hockey but I'm SAVING $$$$$$$$$$

Experience: 2 Days

For the price excellent device. It has PVR, time-shift, EPG, HDMI output and RF output (by pass).
Not much, but coudln't find a way to find progress when playing recrding except when minimising the pay window.
Great device for OTA PVR and EPG. Unencrypted recordings to external usb drive and time-shift. I ought another device for TV in basement after testing this for couple of hours.
