Experience: 2 Months

looks good
weight system
dpi display
smooth gliding
lights on bottom
this is a great mouse. it is very accurate. the cord is durable.the weight system is a bonus that is nice to have. it has a dpi display and buttons on the mouse for you can change it during games. it glides very smoothly, and after al that it looks sweet too. i gave it 4 stars because i would have like the led lights to be on the top by the buttons instead of on the bottom where you don't see them.

Experience: 40 Days

Light, accurate, moves smoothly. Many buttons
Old version has problems with wheel
Almost perfect mouse. I went through a route from wired mouse -> wirless mouse -> wired mouse again. Really hate the weight of wireless mouse. This G5 is light and much more accurate. The only problem is with the wheel. I first got an older version with only one thumb button. The wheel will skip every 15-16 clicks. I contacted Logitech customer service. They sent me a new version G5 (with two thumb buttons). The new one works fine.

Experience: 30 Days

On the fly DPI switch
Weight Cartridge
Only one side button
This is a very fast and responsive mouse. The mouse feels great and doesn't slip from your hand. The weight cartridge allows you to change the amount of mass of the mouse, reducing the effects of small hand movements. This lets you make the mouse work for you instead of forcing you to work for the mouse. I'd buy this again, but I'd try to find the one with two buttons on the side instead of just one.

Experience: 1 Years

Wired(?), extremely good ergonomics, weight cartridges
Feet wear out and shift fast
The G5 is certainly an improvement over my old wireless optical M$ mouse. It's quick, wired, and the tracking is very responsive (there was actually a noticeable improvement in precision over my previous mouse).

The scroll wheel is clicky, not membrane, and takes some time getting used to.

When you click downwards, the mouse wheel sometimes registers the movement down before it actually makes the 'click', making it seem like the screen moved for nothing.

And my biggest problem is with the mouse feet - they wear out quickly and for some reason they move positions from their original spots - and when the edges lift up, you get a nice scratching noise on the mousepad. Might be a lemon though.

Experience: 1 Months

On-the-fly sensitivity adjustments
Adjustable weight system
Adjustable DPI
Covering material wears off easily
The best mouse I have ever owned. Slides very well. Pretty much everything is easily adjusted from sensitivity to the weight to the dpi. It is aesthetically pleasing and the cable is very nicely sheathed. The covering texture material, though, wore off pretty easily after only a few months of use (Maybe I was playing too much and hard? Naw, you can never play hard enough) This is the ultimate gamer's mouse.

Experience: 10 Months

.durable cord
.awesome grip
.teflon mouse feet
.tracks fast and minute movements
.looks dope
.2000dpi, unnecessary, why span the screen in 1cm of movement?
.Custom weights, unnecessary, who wants a heavy mouse?
.only one thumb button
I started with the mx500 and it was one of the first gaming mice that had a shape that i really loved. So when my mx500 died, i was so glad that the new G5 had the same body. I've gotten used to using the G5 and it works great and it takes a good beating as i travel with it all the time. Very comfortable to use, even for long periods. It will track your fastest movements and even your slow accurate movements. The workmanship and design are amazing, from the rough grips, to the nylon cord. Features that it includes that i've never used are:
a)2000dpi, i set mine from 400,600,800. I've always been a lowsens gamer and find any dpi over 1000 too ridiculous, probably just preference tho.
b)customizable weights, perhaps the idea of shooting out the weight cartridge and rapidly changing weights and shoving it back in may appeal to some ppl, but those ppl are probably in white rooms with foam padded walls. Again this may be preference, but i've never met someone who wanted a heavy mouse. I don't use any weights and i don't even leave the cartridge inside.
Only disappointment is the decision to have one thumb button. I read somewhere that the choice came about because in the heat of battle gamers don't want to fidget finding the side buttons. I dunno who at Logitech thought that, but i hope they were fired. Give me two buttons any day, heck fit 3 or 4 on the side. If you can fit them on, i think gamers have half-a-brain to find them, and use them.
All in all, besides the aforementioned missing button, i do like the mouse a lot.

Experience: 1 Years

Weight easy to change
Nice tracking
Change dpi on the fly
Sleeved cord
Mousewheel click is a bit difficult to perform
One of the best laser mouse in the market.
The new version of it(blue skin) has 2 side buttons making it even sweeter.
A bit larger than some of the competitors' such as Razer Deathadder.

Experience: 6 Months

Nice orange leds. I like the weights, though it's useless. The wire is nice. Precise, lot of DPI.
LOUD clicker, not that nice overall..
Nice mouse, but not more. DPIs doesn't matter, you don't need to go as fast as 2000 DPI can give you, it's insane. The orange leds are nice and will perfectlly fit a G15 keyboard. The clicker is REALLY loud, so it's annoying. The wire is nice, well...overall a nice mouse..But I will buy a razer next time.

Experience: 28 Days

precision is good;
lack of two buttons for thumb; grip is not the best
I got this with high expectations... I have been let down by Logitech! Just switched back to my MS Intellimouse as it has 2 thumb buttons and a better feel for gripping... will definitely test drive my next mouse before I order off the web without touching!

Experience: 1 Years

* On the fly DPI changing
* High accuracy and percision, even on high DPI settings
* Responsive
* Comfortable with multiple grip styles
* Only a "back" button and no "forward" button.
Overall I really like my G5. It is accurate and I have never had any errors with the mouse not doing something I did not want it to do, and it allways tracks smoothly regardless of the DPI I set it too. Even though I do not grip the mouse the way it was obviously intended to be gripped, it is still very comfortable (my grip allows me to use it effectivly at the max setting). I did not instal the software that came with it as I believe that it is just bloat, it really doesn't change the functionality of the mouse much beyond what windows can do natively, and I have never found a need for anything more than what windows does nativly The ability to change your DPI settings on the fly is also great. It is usefull when doing art work or something precise where you need the control and finese that only a low DPI setting can give. Even though I usually stick with the max DPI for my day-to-day activities, including gaming, it is nice to have the ability to adjust the DPI without having to change in the control panel. It is very convienient.

The only down side to this mouse is that it only has a "back" button and does not have a "forward button" (for surfing the web). This is somewhat minor, but can be annoying when if you clicked back and than need to go forward for what ever reason. The problem with the back button is solved with the new G5 that actually has the back button, would recomened getting that version over this one.
