Pros
Good ratio price/performance Stock cooler is good
|
Cons
None
|
Summary
Good performance for the price but if you're on a budget, i would choose the Core2Duo e5200 instead since you probably won't notice the speed difference between the two.

Pros
Core 2 Duo Performance Runs cool Highly overclockable
|
Cons
none really
|
Summary
For a budget Core 2 Duo system this is obviously the CPU to get especially when it's on special.
Since I7 has come out i would expect that the Core 2 duo will start dropping in price, they will even more worth buying since it is a great processor.

Pros
Inexpensive. Fast. Increased cache size over the E2160 is noticeable.
|
Cons
Mine did not overclock as well as hoped.
|
Summary
All in all though a 600mzh overclock is pretty amazing considering that small bump has pushed my processor into E8400 territory for $50 less (when on sale) at stock voltages.
I upped the voltage to 1.45 to squeeze everything I could out of my sample, but I was frightened by my increase in core temperatures (60 degrees with an Arctic Cooling Freezer Pro 7 with good paste and proper seating) at this voltage I did manage to push the processor to 4.0Ghz, but I won't run it 24/7 at those temperatures. For day to day usage I will stick to stock volts and 3.1ghz overclock. Mine is a decent sample, but others have pushed their copies much higher on small voltage increases.
All in all a good little processor. If you have 3 or 4 series Intel chipset and want to upgrade from an E2xxx, or E4xxx processor give this one a whirl, the bump in Cache size alone is worth the money.

|
Pros
- 45nm technology - highly overclockable - runs fast and cool
|
Cons
- the castrated cache - price makes Phenoms competitive, especially for heavy multitaskers
|
Summary
Got this along with a budget build PC that I got. Runs fast, highly overclockable with the right motherboards (I got a EP35-DS3L, also from NCIX). Right now running on 3.34GHz on air with a rather crappy cooler. If upgraded to a better cooler, it can certainly hit 4GHz easy.
The defective temp sensor people talk about can easily be overcome by using RealTemp or HWMonitor. They tell the true temperature, and are compatible with 45nm. But if your sensor's stuck, I don't know what to tell you...
Overall, great processor. Will buy again for budget-mainstream.

|
Pros
strong, multi-tasker - no problems, quick install - fastest duo
|
Cons
none so far - haven't tried to OC it tho
|
Summary
Would purchase again when the price drops, use it for higher end builds - would suggest a E5200 oc'd over this for poops and giggles.

Pros
good OC'er, bang for buck, large cache, low FSB to start with (lots of OCing headroom)
|
Cons
none really. i guess not a quad core...
|
Summary
good cpu especially for a PM'd 126 bucks. 1066 FSB gives you a good starting point for overclocking. what more can you ask for

Pros
Good price/performance point. Runs cool.
|
Cons
None.
|
Summary
I replaced an old Pentium D 805 that I had with this. The computer that it is in runs as my home file/media server. It's cooler and more power efficient than the former processor, so I have noticed a marked decline in heat, cpu fan speed, and I'm actually saving on my power bill! I have not overclocked it, and I don't plan on it, so I won't comment on that. Good processor for a home server, overall.

Pros
-Cheap -Good performance
|
Cons
none
|
Summary
I don't overclock, so I can't say much about that aspect. The chip is very cool (runs cool). I can have it with my scythe ninja on passive. It's quite speedy as well. I also have the E8400 and I think that the speed of this and that chip are pretty equal.

|
Pros
Price Runs Cool Low power consumption
|
Cons
Could use more cache
|
Summary
Recently did a system flip flop going from AMD back to Intel. I must say that intel always seems to be somewhat better designed in terms of temperature and performance. The only thing this processor may benefit from is maybe another megabyte of L2 cache

Pros
- Powerful - Energy saving features - Stable
|
Cons
None so far
|
Summary
I'm amazed by this CPU. It's very powerful yet it saves energy when not fully loaded. Paired with my Gigabite Mobo and its EnergySaver program it consumes much less power by using dynamic power phase, dynamic voltage and frequency. I am very happy with this purchase.
