Experience: 2 Years

Solid product, lots of features for its vintage
AMD, high power consumption
Wouldn't buy it again, but that's only because of the power consumption. I tend to leave my computers on for long periods of time, primarily because Linux doesn't seem to have figured out the whole suspend-resume thing.

Gigabyte Quality! Still A Very Good Board! Overclockability, Full ATX plus onboard HDMI-DVI-VGA Bonus if needed, Nice Layout, USB 3.0
Motherboard was hard to find using the skew number at first.
Very pleased again with Gigabyte. I ordered the Asus 890 board and returned it unopened after stumbling onto this board and am very impressed I did.
Paired with a set of 8Gig Mushkin Enhanced Silverline Stiletto Ram the board booted with BIOS Defaults.
I did receive revision 3.1 of this motherboard however each revision I've heard is stable.
For the price of this board and what you get it's a steal.

Experience: 1 Years

many features
no SLI support
You can patch it so that Nvidia cards can have SLI on this board. I don't think there's anything lacking here, but of course it can't compete with the new boards.

Stability (so far)
Excellent feature set
Lots of USB connections
Low on slots and slot options
AHCI (the AMD Sata drivers) can be tricky to get set up in Windows 7
Gigabytes website not the most organized nor efficient for web updates.
Well I finally upgraded my MB and this was my pick after much research. I had looked at Gigabyte before and was impressed with the build quality, design and feature set. Coupled this with the AMD Athlon II X4 640 Quad, Mushkin Enhanced Silverline Stiletto 8GB 2X4GB Kit, and previously updated power supply.

My Windows 7 64 bit BSOD problems seem to have disappeared (knock wood). Had to do the original install in IDE mode (since Sata optical drives in AHCI would not boot the Windows 7 64 bit CD), then switch the windows standard drivers over to the AMD Sata drivers in the OS, then reboot and enable SATA with AHCI instead of native IDE. Still have to figure out why full SATA won't allow you to boot from an optical SATA disk, it reads them in the bios but will not boot from them.

This board is a bit low on slots, using my older 8800 GTS, it only runs in the 8 x slot, unfortunately it blocks a PCI slot and the last PCI slot with a SB Audigy card covers the fan on the Vid card. So will have to upgrade to a PCI-E soundcard, which I have been planning to anyways.

This would be the perfect board for a HTPC, I have it in a big case will have a lot of add-ins eventually and upgrades to the faster USB and SATA.

Considering this package of MB, CPU, and memory mentioned, all came to about $300 with tax, is a no - brainer and it runs smooth and fast.

I'm liking it!

Fully compatible with Ubuntu 10.10. Cheap for all the extras
needs more than two sata cables
I like Gigabyte. I started building with them 2 years ago.
They are fairly reliable and I like the color coding on the board. The onboard fake RAID works well enough and is currently making backups of important data.

Experience: 3 Weeks

Onboard video is actually pretty good. Sound is great too.
Ram slots are soooo close to the cpu.
Great board for the money. It comes with onboard video and sound which both work great. The only con i found was the Ram slots are like right next to the cpu. Also the SATA cables are angled towards the side, just a tad annoying to get in.

Experience: 2 Weeks

So many features
-6x Sata3, plus 2x Sata2
-USB 3, plus USB 2 header that powers and recharges even when computer off
-all solid capacitors
-onboard 128mb video memory with 890GX AMD chip
-2x PCIE16
-Very solid construction
-came with a bunch of cables
-none for this price, except that the bios setup seems a bit old fashioned.
Purchased my first non-Asus motherboard. All my previous MB's were all Asus, that's about two dozen of them between me and friends in the past few years. I couldnt find all the features that this board had in an Asus without going over the $200 price range. I got this for $127.30 and no complaints at all. I love all of the features and for this price i am blown away. Now my friend wants to give Gigabyte mb's a try. It was a nice run Asus, but I have now found my new winner.

Experience: 3 Months

USB3, Sata 3
The Gigabyte 890GPA-UD3H is a wonderful motherboard for the quality / price.

You have SATA3 and USB3.

I bought 2 of those, the first one was REV1.0 and the second one REV2.1

Experience: 3 Months

Alot of features
4 sata cables
Power on the USB even when the computer is closed!!
None I can think of right now. Unfortunately, although it has 2 pci x16, if you want to crossfire, you can only run them at x8 x8 speed. Its not that big of an issue, because comparable MB with the 890 chip also allow x8 x8 speed on crossfire.
Of the 890 mobo, this gigabyte is probably the cheapest yet one of the best you can find!

The front USB is also really nice. They remain powered even when you shut down your computer! In other words, you can plug in your ipods and then shut down your computer to let them recharge while the computer is closed! (on my other computers, I have to leave them open to recharge my ipods)

So if you are on a budget, and want to spend your money where it counts (GPU and CPU), this board can certainly meet the above criterion!

If you want to do crossfire on x16 x16, id recommend getting one of the better 890 board (stay with Gigabyte to keep the cool features!)

Experience: 14 Days

- great board
- runs cool
- oc's well with 955 & 1090T BE cpu's
a little heavy but whats to be espected for having onboard video.
I have this board setup like this & only using the onboard Lan:

Phenom II X6 1090T g 3.8 Ghz/2.4 Ghz NB-Cpu g 1.36v (multi oc's only)
Coolermaster Hyper 212+ (stock included fan on full load)
Gigabyte GA-890GPA-UD3H (bios AD latest one)
Patriot "Sector 5" DDR3 1333 8 Gig. Kit (2 x 4 gig) Runs 9-9-9-24 g 1.5v
OCZ Vertex2 Exstended 60 SSD drive
Power Color Radeon 5850
Coolermaster 690 II Advanced
Corsair 650HX

This is a great board if your looking to build a start up AMD AM3 box for cheap with room to upgrade later down the road.

Comment: According to the SPCR, the 890GPA-UD3H has a decent feature set, good power management and undervoltage capabilities. The 890GX chipset on the otherhand offers little improvement over its predecessors.

Comment: Gigabyte has done a great job with the 890GPA-UD3H motherboard. It supports the newest USB 3.0 and SATA 6Gbps technologies and does not even require a video card since it has integrated graphics supporting HDMI, and DVI out. It will also support CrossFire with an x8/x8 physical connection. It is a v

Comment: Gigabyte's first AMD offering based on the latest 890GX chipset is an absolutely phenomenal motherboard. Not only does it come with the latest technologies, such as USB 3.0, SATA 3.0 and the ATI Radeon HD 4290 integrated graphics processor, but it also right out of the box comes with more horsep

Comment: In closing, the Gigabyte 890GPA-UD3H motherboard really impressed us. We got solid performance numbers on it compared to another 890GX motherboard and in some cases they were better and the board costs $15 less. The Gigabyte 890GPA-UD3H also was easy to overclock, had a great layout and all the feat
